Re: Reason 10 and Ozone 8
Could there be any other reasons the meters are off? I've been skeptical of Reason's master fader readings for a while now and tested differences in readings in stand alone Ozone 7 and Pro Tools. I'll have nothing in the master chain (I export the wav file and use a dedicated reason file for masteri...

Re: Work space dividers & general screen layout rant :)
Also, why can't I arrange my work space like this - it's such a no brainer with both rack and mixer organised vertically and the focus dynamically switching to proper device and channel respectively, when sequencer track is touched. I can't really understand why it's not there: I strongly agree wit...

Re: Confusion with hardware specs and their performance.
I'm happy that my performances now reflect my gear a little bit better, but still am puzzled as to how the macbook runs 3% less extensively yet struggles keeping the dsp bars down within Reason? DSP is not only about CPU, but also HDD speed, communication between various computer components: busses...

Re: Confusion with hardware specs and their performance.
Update: So I was pleasantly surprised that the desktop did not have the most up to date focusrite drivers! That helped only partially though. I tested a different song with all midi info I had on both machines.Same project file in both machines with same interface, same audio settings and came up wi...

Re: Confusion with hardware specs and their performance.
The i7 runs projects that are about twice the track count and twice the amount of insert fx. Also, can you post a screenshot of your Task Manager when running a song that results in high DSP on the PC? Like so: Here's a high dsp part captured https://i.imgur.com/o7c7a0X.png I have tried the basic A...

Re: Confusion with hardware specs and their performance.
You'd think I should be getting better performance with the desktop right? Yes. The question is are all the other Reason settings the same accross the MacBook and Desktop PC: multi-core and hyper-threading, bit depth, audio rate and audio buffer. Also, is the PC in high-performance mode? Yup! All s...

Re: Confusion with hardware specs and their performance.
Although the i3-8350k seems to have better benchmark score, maybe Reason just works better with that CPU with 8 threads? I think that would be the only logical answer. The i7 runs projects that are about twice the track count and twice the amount of insert fx. My first thought was that it was the i...

Confusion with hardware specs and their performance.
I built a nice new gaming/music production desktop around November lats year. Before that, I had a macbook pro retina (2012) that ran Reason really well, still does actually. I knew something was up when I first started using Reason(I'm on 8.3) on the desktop because I'd see the DSP meter flicker an...

Re: Are You Serious?!
It sounds like you are looking at it from a very technical and software side, which may be making you see Reason with the wrong lens. Can you open it up and make music with an old school pseudo-rack style layout, some core instruments, samplers, and machines that are often easy to tinker and learn t...

Re: Did anyone else receive an email survey about Reason 10 from the Props?
You suckers don't know when you're being baited. Take an unfinished product and slap on a fancy name like X on it. They surely will pay for it. Either the advertising team was also underwhelmed or they didn't get the memo that they were releasing "Reason 10".

Re: POLL: Has Reason 9.5 caused you to update from an older version?
Chiming in late with a "No" for me. The 9.5 update adding VST support is huge when it comes the history of Reason choosing to do their own thing and develop the "Rack Extension" platform over VST's. The Plug-in delay compensation was actually a feature I really wanted when talk about version 9 comin...

Re: Shame on you PH!
Anyone know of a good Expanse replacement? I could always get very technical with a combinator and Thor but the smooth workflow in Expanse's additive engine makes the battle a rough one. Zero, I have always seen Expanse as Zero's little brother however Expanse seams to be more user friendly.... Reg...

Re: Shame on you PH!
Update: Received an email from PH's. It was very very brief and to the point. Stated they updated the RE SDK and as a consequence the Expanse synth V.2 will only work with Reason 9. In light of this they are unable to sell legacy versions of the software due to compatibility issues. Still waiting on...

Re: Shame on you PH!
This will be my last word on this topic since it's turned into the classic discussion cycle of death where we all beat the dead horse and start theorizing and asking what ifs. I love Reason. It has given me the opportunity to create music, spend countless hours just messing around for fun, and keep ...

Re: Shame on you PH!
I have already tried contacting support, so I'm voicing my concerns directly through to them. I really hope they press the issue and work on improving their website which hasn't been the smoothest since they updated it. I am not going to "just upgrade" because I don't feel that they took the best ap...

Shame on you PH!
You know, I've always heard PH doesn't care about their old customer base but I never thought I'd be shafted so soon as a 8.3 user. I'm now part of a niche community that for being only 1 update behind (choosing to skip version 9), I feel drastically separated from the rest of the pack. This all ste...

Re: Synapse's The Legend Synthesizer Song Challenge
Last minute question:
Would it be allowed to use Thor's Chorus section as an effect for The Legend to utilize?
Whenever I need a Chorus I would route it through Thor since the Delay parameter is in milliseconds, giving better control, and it actually has a Dry/Wet knob unlike the stock CF-101.

I personally do not see this update as a step in the right direction. While many have pointed out; the video shows a sense of collaboration with both CEO's of the companies working together, but why should that take precedence over numerous other areas of progress and innovation? Having seen an arti...

Re: Bitley™ Summer 2016 Bundle
As a novice when it comes to refills, currently don't any, I've done a bit of research and all routes lead me to Bitley's products as top notch golden standards. With this new offer, my options became a bit more complicated because the Summer 2016 Bundle offers a lot of great refills with a lot of s...
