But then there's Analog Lab Lite which is free to download from their site. Trying to figure out what the difference is... Not really seeing one.

Re: Reason Studios needs to release a statement on the future of the DAW.
I used to be a die hard Reason user. Loved everything about the workflow of opening up the software and immediately getting to work making sounds. Still love that part about Reason. I love the feel of the rack and how easily everything integrates. But that's where the love ends. Once you get beyond ...

Re: Reason 12.2.2 is out...
Man.. Reason has been so boring and so disappointing for so long now. This update is just another example.
I check in every few months and hope there's something new and exciting and maybe an excuse to buy the "upgrade" but.. nope.
What do they have like 2 software engineers behind the scenes?

Re: New Pricing for Reason 12 - Upgrades now 199 from 129
First they release a half baked product for v12 and now they're charging more for the upgrade? Hoo boy. Yeah that's it. I'm gonna dive into Studio One and see how much work it'd really be to switch DAW's. I was working on re-recording most live recordings anyway. I just can't support this kind of di...

Re: Reason 12 has arrived
Yeah.. as someone who's still on v10, it looks like v12 is gonna be a no from me, dawg. The only thing in the past two updates that I'm semi-exicted about is... Audio clip crossfades... Yes. The basic-as-f@ck-and-standard-part-of-literally-every-other-DAW-on-the-planet... audio crossfades... introdu...

Re: tools or toys?
the thing that continues to boggle my mind is that most Reason users buy into it because it’s easy to pick up, but eventually get to the point where they’re frustrated by some caveman-basic bit of DAW functionality available anywhere else. it seems like adding a bunch of really simple shit would pu...

Re: Why are the reason users a minority?
Let us tell this story. Why are the reason users a minority? There are so many daws, why can't I see any signs of increase? Why don't modern YouTubers use reason? Because the latest version on piratebay i reason 5. A good way to start producing is by using pirated software. Alot of teenagers can't ...

Re: Just deleted 11 years worth of songs.
If true, I completely don't understand the Reason-ing. I have super old song ideas that were like a brick wall of creativity block... until... something clicked one day and upon a fresh listen, I instantly wrote a new piece or changed a part and BAM. As this happens over the years I can open old ver...

Re: Using multiple track recording from mixer
I mean why not?
I'm using a 32 channel analog mixer into an 8 channel audio interface and most of the time I'm only recording one track at a time. If you think you need more channels at once, then either get an interface with several inputs or a mixer.. or both.
The world is your oyster.

Re: Analog Lab vs Kontakt
I know the original video compares Kontakt to Analog Lab, but I have both Komplete and the Arturia Collection and still agree it's apples to oranges. IMO Arturia is great for classic synths/instruments, Komplete is great for acoustic instruments and interesting sound FX/experimental explorations. W...

Re: Latency + windows solved.
Yep. A good audio interface should be your first real investment after you have Reason and a decent computer. I had zero noticeable latency in XP with a Delta 1010LT. I have zero noticeable latency in Win 7 with an M-Track Eight.

Re: Nektar announces "PACER" Hands-free DAW and MIDI Control
I finally got a Pacer and since I seem to be the only person on the internet who bought one of these to use in Reason, I figured I'd provide a little review here. First impressions are that it's large and heavy. It feels solid enough to use as a weapon if the need arose. The switches are firm and se...

Re: What kind of computer do you use for reason?
Custom building a new PC is the most performant and best value option, assuming you can build a computer. Next value option is buying used machines on ebay or something, but you'll still probably need to know a thing or two about computers because the value is most evident when there's missing drive...

Re: Some old Focusrite interfaces are not supported anymore for drivers.
I have now ordered a new Focusrite: a Scarlett 18i20 3rd gen USB-C interface, so I can use it for several years to come. Good luck with the 18i20. I bought two of those because the first one was used and didn't work properly. Same issue on the new one. I spent many hours troubleshooting/testing/etc...

i'm trying to understand when to move on to another synth...... Thanks! Just wanted to point out in case it wasn't brought up already..
Not only did pretty much everyone else provide MP3 export ~1-2 decades ago, but MP3 patents themselves expired back in 2017. This was only just added to our beloved DAW now, a full 3 years after the patent expired.

Re: Screw it...I’ll start it. May Madness 2020
I don't typically use a lot of plugins/RE's. I started getting into the habit of buying some during the May Madness sale and as a result started using McDSP EQ's in several places when certain instruments needed to be tamed in the mix. And then I realized these RE's are buggy. I emailed McDSP a year...

Not the same report but I think it deserves to be pointed out and points out that honesty can be of interest. I'm not really sure that needs to be pointed out here, in particular, since Reason hasn't been cracked since v5.. so I'm betting the vast majority of users here are paying customers, like m...

I think you guys are being a TAD dramatic. Unfortunately, no, this is not the case. If you give an installer package access to change your pc, then you can be absolutely ripped to pieces. I don't wish to be harsh here, but you need to listen, and not ever give anyone else the impression that this i...
