Re: What headphones to get
Is there something you don't like about the one I recommended? Superlux HD681. Nice and flat and comfortable for only like 40 bucks. I highly recommend them.

L O L Your needs are not like mine or many others. Your requests wouldn't mean anything to me personally. It's pretty universally accepted that Reason desperately needs workflow enhancements. More advanced MIDI tools. More advanced audio editing would also be nice. They definitely need to work on t...

May Madness?
So May Madness is still a thing right? What's on your wish-list? I'm hoping for a sale on: -Radical Keys -Jiggery Pokery... anything. The JPS is especially tempting. I've got his combo organs so I don't even really bother with my Arturia stuff anymore. -Selig Coloring EQ I think I'm pretty well set ...

Re: Phase28 PhaseShifter
I bought this RE the other day and to me it sounds much more like a typical stomp box effect, which is exactly what I wanted. I never could get the PH90 to sound right (and no wet/dry mix) and the free phaser from that music company didn't really do the trick for me either. Nice work. [/color] Did ...

Re: Old school Slipknot
But how a person experiences music is of course very subjective and it's kind of pointless to argue over which is the most "brutal", "intense" or "best" music. No need to compete :D Agreed. But having seen both of them live, I would rate Pantera as the most raw/intense show I've ever been to. Also ...

Re: Recommendations for relatively "new" EDM producer?
I don't make dance music but the mix and mastering rig, when it's on sale, is an extremely good deal if you are into that sort of thing.
And may madness is almost upon us. That's still a thing, right?

Re: Old school Slipknot
to this day I haven't found a band that has displayed this raw intensity that Slipknot had during their early years. Then you must not have seen Pantera live. I've seen Slipknot live and IMO nothing beat the Pantera shows. EDIT: just clicked the video and yeah. Strobe lights. Their shows were strob...

Re: Behemoth; AI drummer (or, how do you people get anything done?)
this lets me program a drum pattern, play it/tweak it with some controllable degree of randomness so that it feels more like a human performance than a perfectly quantized programmed pattern. I respect what you're doing and I also don't like perfectly quantized drums. My go to solution for stiff mi...

Re: Synapse QG-7 Equalizer
I use it if I ever need surgical EQ, but I rarely need surgical EQ. Or really much of any EQ. I wonder how that is possible and this kind of makes me feel pathetic considering how much of a fanatic I am becoming. I picked up a few Brainworx EQ's this month and I'm having a blast! IDK, I used to put...

Re: Behemoth; AI drummer (or, how do you people get anything done?)
I have no idea what's going on here. I've always just programmed myself or used EZDrummer. Using EZ drummer is faster, easier and more realistic. But I hate EZD because of the baked in effects and whatnot so I'll be going SD3 probably before long. I'd rather go with a different company but I'm not s...

Nothing against the GQ7 but it does what is expected of it. But it costs $99. Only reason I have it is I bought the mix and mastering rig. I use it if I ever need surgical EQ, but I rarely need surgical EQ. Or really much of any EQ.

Re: What headphones to get
And definitely stop using that track you posted as any sort of reference material because that track ain't gonna help you. That music ...only sounded good on 1 headphone type, with some twisted equalization. Yes, Indeed I would expect that to be the case. I think it's silly to dumb down a person ju...

Re: What headphones to get
Some say I over complicate things. What? No way! I'm shocked. lol. This thread about headphones would definitely not be an example of that. /s IMO, there are far too many variables involved to go even half as deep as you've gone in this thread. Unless you've got time and money and all the resources...

Re: What headphones to get
I"m not really sure what you're going on about any more at this point. Just get a decent pair of flat/natural headphones like some that have been recommended above and use them. I think most people would tell you, you shouldn't really be doing serious mixing work with only headphones anyway. It soun...

Re: Apple REFUSED to Fix our iMac Pro
Ah, as an IT guy, I can't resist a good Mac vs PC debate. As I said, I'm in IT. I've worked on just about everything. I used to own a macbook and even an apple server. *Used to*. I can attest to the fact that if you are technical and get under the hood, you're going to run into just as many stupid a...

Re: Entry level solution for getting audio into an iMac
It's important IMO to indicate what specifically doesn't work when you say something failed to meet expectations - not you specifically, but anyone. In my specific case, on a mac, at 44.1 kHz, I've worked with two Focusrite interfaces that performed exactly to spec (one USB, one Thunderbolt). That'...

As I stated in the previous thread (https://forum.reasontalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=7506205), this is something I could really use as a I often find myself hunched over with my guitar in one hand, working the mouse with another while trying to not poke holes in my monitors or dent the headstock. ...

Re: What headphones to get
In terms of flat, natural response without extra added bass or treble and for an affordable price (around $40 USD), I can highly recommend the Superlux HD681. I searched around online for some time before reading reviews and settling on this one. I believe you'd have to spend a lot more to get a not...

Re: Entry level solution for getting audio into an iMac
My next interface will probably be by Focusrite as I hear mostly great things about them. But like most products not all the reviews are perfect. Do you think there is a quality control problem, or instead maybe the issues that come up are on the user side? (As a reminder most USB problems can be s...

Re: Making drum beats? & ethics question.
Nothing wrong with learning from your sources of inspiration but a simple way to avoid outright copying it is to change parts of it here and there. You might even like the changes better than the original and knowing it's not a "ripoff" should make you even more happy with it. Lots of drum beats are...
