Re: Soundforce MIDI controllers?

Thanks - good little review Artotaku.
I'll skip this. With devices for midi 2 down the road, there could eventually be something interesting.

Quantize Midi input whilst auditioning patches?

Is it possible to quantize midi input? I've just been auditioning some rhythmic patches in Omnisphere and because there is a bit of latency in the project it's tough to play in time. I do need to play different notes so would like to play the midi keyboard rather than laying something down first. Is...

Weird when compared to the futuristic style of the marketing blurb....

Snap. They just sit there. For anyone who likes some sense of order (which, let's face it, is many of us producers) is pretty annoying.

Re: Soundforce MIDI controllers?

I'm curious about this too. I'm not interested in an analog synth, but I am interested in a synth-like controller. I've never got on with the generic ones with just a view rotaries. I am definitely wondering about this one though - for example, it looks like you could map many of the rotaries to sub...

Re: PheonixVerb by iZotope, $10 at PiB

I got this on a similar sale over Christmas. I was pretty annoyed that it doesn't use Izotope's regular licensing system and you can only license it to one computer.
I thought the world had moved beyond that. (Even Nexus!)
One might also saay it's kind of 'spiritual' under the right conditions of consciousness. To my ears it has the same 'psychedelic' component in many ways.
I agree. There is a spiritual dimension to psytrance, and this thread runs through the derivations. I saw an interesting docume...

Psytrance, Reason style.
What a mind-blowing genre! I've never made anything like this before.
I even hand-drew the cover art

Re: The best workflow enhancement I've ever come up with. What are yours?

Another new one for me today. I never realised that you can create a new instrument or an effect via the help menu (at least on a Mac). If you know what you're looking for, you can simply type the name into the help search and click enter - then it appears in the rack. If you use the normal way - in...

Re: Is it possible to rename Refills?

I might be missing something, but it doesn't look like you can use the packer to modify existing refills - only to create new ones.

Is this right?

Is it possible to rename Refills?

When you rename a refill in finder/windows explore the change is initially recognised in Reason (if you navigate out of and back into the refill location). But when you next open Reason, it goes back to the original name, presumably because the name is baked into the Refill itself (rather than being...

Somthing which would be a piece of cake to impliment would be different couloured background on the sequencer after every 8 or 16 bars. Would help me alot. Already exists, just add empty blocks. I do it all the times That's how I do it too :-) I've put a link to the track below the screenshot. By t...

Re: What is the ONE feature you'd like to have in the future version of Reason ?

Cloned / Linked / Mimic'd Clips. +1 This is probably the top item that slows down my workflow: If I update one clip today (after making 20 copies), it's really hard to remember 5 minutes later which clip had the changes and which didn't. Or if I come back the next day, how do I even tell which of t...

Re: Automation on Master for Complex-1

Is it just at my computer or is it impossible to add automation to the "Master" knob of Complex-1? (Afaik) Every other RE can be automated this way. I stumbled across it today when i made a drone sound with Complex-1 and tried to change the volume over time. So I have to automate the channel volume...

Curved automation is excellent. A real time saver. Filter sweeps are much easier to make sound exactly how you want them: curves can sound both more natural and interesting than a straight line.

I do wish they'd sort it out. The bug means I gravitate away from what is otherwise a great device.
