Re: Saw a Depeche Mode cover band last night - and holy hell were they awesome

Hmm just spent some time reading the difference between a cover band and a tribute band. I was of the mind that a tribute band has more freedom while a cover band is more restricted but it seems to be the opposite! Confusing words. You would think a cover band covers and a tribute band pays to an in...

Hey I'm still in my 20's but I like Depeche Mode to an extent. I own a Greatest Hits compilation - that has to count for something! :D

Re: Saw a Depeche Mode cover band last night - and holy hell were they awesome

I think it's the "clone" thing that got to me, you know erasing every trace of your own personality :D Yeah the clone thing makes it more of a craft rather than art. If you inject too much of your own personality into a tribute, it becomes a loose cover instead. Then you have a bunch of people comp...

Re: Saw a Depeche Mode cover band last night - and holy hell were they awesome

Not for me, but again it's great that other people can enjoy these things. Your post reminds me of my father who used to discourage my brothers from playing cover songs on their guitars. This was back in my high school hip hop days and I was already disowned for that. Covers don't do anything...

Nothing new and not much to it. Right up there with what kind of sandwich Madonna had for lunch.

Re: Parsec 2 - Worth the upgrade from Parsec 1?

Additive synthesis, compared to wavetable synthesis, has it's magic in detuning overtones. And that's already covered in Parsec 1. I agree with where to find the magic but I wouldn't have additive synthesis any other way than Parsec 2. The GUI in Parsec 2 is much more fun and intuitive with the upd...

Re: Reasontalk Artist of the Year 2017

I was pretty buzzed when I watched this laughing my ass off reliving the absurdity. This project was a massive undertaking for me in addition to drinking too much and only getting a few hours of sleep before work on top of already being sleep-deprived. I truly believe you are a standout artist and ...

Excellent! It can be very dramatic with tasteful destruction. I use it just barely wet for a slight edge and a bit more presence.

I will be releasing a podcast series I worked on for 2 years. Unfortunately for the most of you it is in Dutch. But what does it DO? I keep thinking I need it but I do not understand it. It's like a sequencer for anything and everything. It doesn't generate sound. It generates CV. It's a trigger for anything. It's automation. It's a pattern generator. Yes. Here's a quick sketch I did recently using PSQ in th...

2018 Resolution Thread

You know the story of people getting excited about the new year and all that jazz. Many people go around saying it is their year; they feel inspired for a few weeks and then fall back into a routine. I would still like to know if you have any aspirations or goals to hit next year. Please feel free t...

Re: Are you participating in the RT Winter Competition?

So I guess 4 people are gonna participate in the contest. :D Perfect, that's great for us who are entering the competition then. I'm curious to hear what you did considering your preferences. Nine people voted yes but I think there will be at least twenty-five participants. Two days left to go now.
