Re: Announcing Quad Note Generator

My one wish for this machine would be to have the ability to choose the notes that it picks right on the front panel, not by connecting another device. Say I want C, E, G, and A. Like some other devices, put a little blue keyboard on the front and lemme pick the notes. That way, no musical notes th...

Re: Reason's kludgy code

Its my experience that the more kludgy the code, the more fragile the software is. Things that are all hacked together under the hood show though with weird ass behaviors or crashes across platforms. Reason could easily be the most rock solid piece of software I've ever owned. I would be willing to...

Re: Announcing Quad Note Generator

I don't want to stack devices, which I had mentioned earlier [emoji846] Thank you for the tip, though - I will be able to use it. I'm hoping for a stronger computer one of these days to upgrade my 2012 Mac Mini, and then I can afford the processing power for stacking. I'm spoiled by Kompulsion's op...

Re: Announcing Quad Note Generator

Just turn off “To Scale” set the range to +9 and -0 with Vary set to max, then add a “Scales & Chords” player and use the Custom Scale and there’s your little blue keyboard! (Turn off Chords and Filters Notes too, btw). I don't want to stack devices, which I had mentioned earlier 🙂 Thank you for th...

Re: Announcing Quad Note Generator

Good Idea for using this device. But setup ist a little complicate as I see. You can't hook it up with effects like Buffre. To have it clean you must do a second setup with a device that not plays like a Combinator. And then you need cabling on the back from QNG to Buffre. If I don't have overlook ...

Re: Announcing Quad Note Generator

Just got this, it's as amazing as it sounds. One thing I just used it for was the BuffRE Beat Repeater. Wanting random glitches in my patterns, but not wanting to use the piano roll to trigger the RE. This would work on Distillery and the Beat Chopper as well. Initially I was using KRON, then RND, a...

Re: Migrating from Win to macOS - what software issues should I expect?

Audacity. Has scripts for converting .WAV to a variety of formats in bulk to a separate folder, so you don't lose the source material. Runs well. I don't know why more people don't use it, it's insanely fast, and runs some VSTs and Audio Units. And it's free.

Re: 6 new REs from Noise Engineering!!!

Hi Loque, what a great Track! Can you post some details how you run the Noise-e extensions ? I mostly do the following: * Randomly put a NE device in my rack * press a few buttons, turn some knobs until i like it so far * flip the rack, add a Lolth , connect the Envelope-Out to Lolth * Try differen...

Re: 6 new REs from Noise Engineering!!!

Guys, if you were to pick 2-3 of the new devices, which ones would those be? I've not received my discount from SB1 yet, but I'm kinda glad I didn't because then I'd feel obliged to get all of them & I'm not really sure I need all of them... I would go for the more unique parts of the new bundle, t...

Re: Tape Cassette Deck: Klevgränd Produkter AB Tape Deck Emulation

Do you use it on individual sounds? Or in the final master on the whole sound? So far just using it with the final master. I haven't produced anything with it yet, but that's the way I would use it. I can also see it being really useful if one wanted to make loops with it, for specific sets of inst...

Re: 6 new REs from Noise Engineering!!!

PS: Kirk, that's one hell of an album. Nicely done! @ravisoni - Thank you very much! Once I got a mix I could live with, working with these modules within those constraints really led to a lot of rapid production. These are so much fun to make tracks with, and to reiterate, there is no other module...

Re: 6 new REs from Noise Engineering!!!

I agree. I love this era of Electronica & this is certainly evocative of the period. Really good stuff & a fantastic demo of these devices. Nice work ;) Thank you! I am happy to have modules now that provide me sounds that I'm always trying to recreate. Noise Engineering Modules work very well for ...

Re: 6 new REs from Noise Engineering!!!

I just wanted to chime in and say that this alone has put these on my buy radar. Really well done, man! This totally reminds me of old school late 90's/early 2000's era Warp Records stuff (a bit of Autechre, a bit of Seefeel, Boards of Canada even). It's also made me consider pairing these with som...

Re: 6 new REs from Noise Engineering!!!

Thank you! Just please tell me you didn't do this today in last 4h since the devices were available in the shop  a0020 sticks out the most - really great! However, $7 for roughly 15 minutes of music is a bit much :D I did most of it in the last week and a half - part of it comes from taking t...

Re: 6 new REs from Noise Engineering!!!

Nice album, good job! And the 169 for the bundle is totally reasonable for the unique, high quality devices included in it. I think the special offer for synth bundle 1 owners will surface soon.... Thank you! It really is an affordable way to get into advanced modular synthesis with a unique sound....

Re: 6 new REs from Noise Engineering!!!

Gotta say, I'm really digging these modules a TON! Each one is unique, if more time is spent with them. Start going wacky with the PSQ, KRON, and various other sequencers. Spent a ton of time beta-testing these REs. One major thing that all of them have is the ADSR and an adjustable curve for the AD...

Re: Tape Cassette Deck: Klevgränd Produkter AB Tape Deck Emulation

So is the motor quality just a basic LFO on the pitch with worst quality being more depth of the sweep? Sounds like it. Didn't hear any phasing or erratic speed adjustment. I prefer it this way, but there would be some advantages to having a set of CV control in addition to the front adjustments.
