Re: talking about sick drum fill ins
https://youtu.be/TkNhzYg8W7g?t=145 wow! I have studied this on slowmo using this video https://youtu.be/qex-K_uCguE?t=144 Now these are the things that inspire me to get a proper drum set and record my own sounds and then slice them up and have a go with reason. Am I the only one that thinks this f...

Re: Steinberg discontinues vst2 for all users
One has to wonder if Cubase will be the last DAW with VST2… Cubase 13 already doesn't have VST2 support anymore. What am I missing here? I'm only able to report what I found here, I'm not a Cubase user myself: (did I misread this?) Cubase Pro 13.0.30 "Cubase supports the VST 2 and VST 3 plug-in sta...

Re: Steinberg discontinues vst2 for all users
That thread tells me nothing useful, or I didn’t go back far enough to find all the details. I don’t know how they can force Reason to drop VST2 support, but maybe there’s something in the SDK I’m not familiar with. FWIW, VST2 support was dropped in Jan 2022 (two years ago) according to this: https...

Re: i say goodby to you! Thank you!
Bossa passed away Sunday, March 24th at 01:30 pm. I had the privilege of meeting with him every Wednesday evening for the past six months. We talked about music mainly and life and the end of life in general. He was my friend for almost 30 years. What a great guy and musician! ALS is a hard enemy. ...

Re: Steinberg discontinues vst2 for all users
It looks like Steinberg has forced all developers in the current SDK for VST 3 to discontinue VST 2, both in the plugins and in the DAWs ! The whole thing should then be implemented with the next update of the DAW or the plugin. :( So in the next update of Reason or any vst plugin you...

Re: Pre listening a specific channel
If your interface has 4 outputs, you can do this with the Control Room Outputs patched to output 3/4 and using Send 8 as a PFL (pre fader listen) function. You will need to be able to listen to JUST these inputs with your headphones, so hopefully that is easy to setup with your specific interface. I...

Re: What do you think re control room in Reason?
It only works like a console if you have a separate pair of outputs for monitors (as the manual states), because output 1/2 is what gets bounced so it’s basically the “two track out” of the “console”, and CR is the “monitor out” (on channels 3/4). But I’ve never used the CR outputs myself, since I’v...

But seriously, how many users here on the forum are actually in the situation where they need to shave minutes off a project  I was thinking about this recently,...

Re: What are you watching at the moment? (possible spoilers)
Watching DARK. It is so critically acclaimed and highly rated, and I am up to episode 5 now and I am still bored to tears. I can only hope things improve in Season 2 or towards the end of season 1. Dark is complex - tried to get into season 2 after a break, and have forgotten too much from season 1...

Re: Reason's export max audio resolution
Sorry, I guess I'm not following today. Reason is limited to what you see when you export, which is determined by the programmers choice. The hardware is limiting what you hear on playback. That is why you can export at such extremes on some DAWs, I'm guessing, though I've had no experience with it ...

oy ya all! what is the max of reason daw export audio resolution? is this depending on your audio hardware or is reason daw limited to 24bit/192khz max natively? thnx. It is totally in Reason's control. Reason could export at some insanely high/low sample rate and 64 bit float (by upsampling and 'p...

Re: delay swing
YES!!!
Years ago I built a swing/shuffle delay for the Factory Sound Bank, search under delay (can remember if I called it “swing” or “shuffle”, will check when I get into the studio this morning).
[it’s “Shuffle Delay”, in the FSB since 2011!]

Re: Anyone developing a mixer?
I really have to make sure my Mixer isn't crossing over too much with yours Selig. If you are going to do 8 sends I might drop that idea and go back to the original 2U design with 4 sends. Murf You don’t have to change anything, I’m without a coder at present so you won’t be seeing this from me unl...

Re: Anyone developing a mixer?
cool thread. im just now getting caught up on it. here's my 2 cents. for sound design, I always combinator my instruments and use a mixer 14:2 in said combi. this might just be me, but i never even use the send returns and instead just wire them back to a channel in the mixer. that way i can make s...

Re: Anyone developing a mixer?
I am sure Selig would agree, but connecting multiple devices introduces one cycle of buffer latency between every stage, whereas in one RE that is avoided. That was always my assumption, but it doesn't appear to be consistent. I can run four Line mixers serially, followed by four Selig Gains (8 dev...

…Not even sure what the actual use is beyond the currently available mixers... :D https://i.imgur.com/crAqedx.png I really like the idea of large vertical faders/meters. I like this RE very much! but I have a question. lets say we have a background vocals bus, a collection of channels that are panned some left and some right. Re: Adding full ADSR envelope to Serato Sample slices
You're on the right track with Modrack ADSR. But you have to trigger Modrack's ADSR. You can do this with a handy utility called One-Note Stand. Then patch the ADSR CV out into Serato and route it to the volume control of the desired sample. That, I can't help you with, as I don't have Serato. In t...

Yea, things can get pretty gnarly with a ReDrum connected to 10 mix channels w/ some FX patched between ReDrum outs and Mix Channel inputs with other FX patched in the Mix Channel insert, all channels feeding a drum bus, plus a parallel drum bus, plus a parallel connection from the kick to side chai...

Re: Tera Kiss - Don't give up : advices needed about our song.
Great idea, only comment I would have is the rhythmic pad/vocal part going all the way through is way louder than anything else to my ears, like to the point it’s distracting from the lead. It’s like a dish with too much seasoning distracting you from the main ingredient (the vocal). Plus it is (int...
