As per the release notes a codec for mini mk3 was added. So I asumme the knobs should be pre configured per device and there should not be a need to use overrides.

Sort of true - in Europa / Sweeper you can get the filter to open/close further with CV (either externally or via the mod matrix, MSEG)

If I'm not mistaken, BV-X offers an additional unison effect which can be applied to incoming audio.

But if you're going to pay for a unison effect, there's probably better options (perhaps even free VSTs) that are worth checking out
