Re: (robot pop) Surrounded By Machines

Very cool and fun track. So what's going on with the vocals? It sounds like the verse is your voice with vocoder, and the 'surrounded by machines' voice is produced using a speak and spell or something. What did you use? I like the chirping/bubbling type sounds starting around 2:50. Cool stuff!

Re: Word(s) / Challenge of the month - "UNUSED GEAR"- (january)

Odd Particles is actually a very apt name because I was thinking as I was listening than this is indeed an odd sounding track. Fun to listen to. Playful. I like what you did with that vox-ish sound at around 0:32. Nice sounding mix. Good stuff. I'm curious how you used Echobode. Is there a specific...

Re: Word(s) / Challenge of the month - "UNUSED GEAR"- (january)

Sounds nice! How do you like the VPS Avenger? Curious as to why you picked out that synth since there are so many out there. Are you going to make more tracks using URE's, or is this a one track experiment? One reason Rob Papen's devices are among my lesser used Re's is because of the GUI. I really...

Here is my effort called U.R.E. Wish I had more time to work on this but family life means I will not get the chance in rest of January. rack extensions previously unused (or not used for a very long time): Boom 808 percussion synth Predator 2 (Rob papen) Subboombass (Rob Papen) Nostromo spectral s...

Re: Word(s) / Challenge of the month - "UNUSED GEAR"- (january)

First track of 2022 for me. This is a pretty odd one. A bit of a jumbled mess. I tried my best not to overthink this one, but rather have a "anything goes" attitude about it. Title is generated by one of those online songname generators. Seemed approriate for a song like this. Also some of you know...

Re: [RELEASED!] Selig Audio New Product: INFUSER

Congrats on the release! I still don't have Coloring EQ, but I want this now too. I never got coloring eq because I haven't caught a good sale of it. I'm sorry Giles to be that way, but over the years, I've been conditioned to never pay full price for a plugin. If I may ask, why no introduction sale...

Re: (Electronica/80s vibe/Game music) - Joyride

Great tune as usual, and catchy. I like the melody and the harmony parts; those little flourishes you do (not sure of word to describe). Those lead phrases. Good stuff Tritone. I'm always curious to know what primary devices were used, such what was used for drums and the other instruments. Thanks ...

Thats a good enough reason: you liked how it sounds! Good luck working on your EP. I look forward to it. Thanks for the encouragement. It means more than you'd think. I've been working on the EP in pieces when time permits. I had a slew of ideas over the weekend and managed to write and record the ...

Re: GORB Song G - (Tritone / GodOfRainbows Collab)

This is so good, I wonder why you don't make more music using your guitar and vocals. Thanks, appreciate that. There are a couple of reasons for that. For one I just find myself pretty bored with the guitar. Not that I dislike how it sounds or anything. Guitar is fine. I'm just not that into the ac...

Re: GORB Song G - (Tritone / GodOfRainbows Collab)

The only song where I've recorded guitar is for this track. I wrote it about 6 years ago when a friend challenged me to write something based on recording, rather than programme everything like I always did. Not only was this the first time I recorded my guitar playing, but also my first attempt at...

Re: (Metal/Industrial) Deliverance

I'm not sure I had a specific reason for not hard panning the guitars other than I liked how it sounded. I'll have to check out Benedict's video since I'm really curious to see what he does and recommends. The EP is in the works. I've been working on song ideas. I'm my own worst enemy where I'll co...

If you are open to a reply from someone else on this, I discuss the reasons to not hard-gan guitars (or anything) in a track in several places in this Mix Walkthrough of our Slava's track https://youtu.be/FxOwCfL-TCI I rarely hard pan anything as I find that while in the short term it seems wider, ...

Re: (Metal/Industrial) Deliverance

Thanks for the feedback and glad you liked it. My original plan was to re-record guitars using both of my Mesa amps (Rectifier and Mark V) but didn't end up doing so. Instead, I recorded a clean DI of all guitar tracks and then ran them through a Peavey 6505 amp sim and Mesa Recitifer amp sim for t...

Kick ass! Sounds great. I'm curious to know more about what amp sims you used for guitar, and other devices or mix techniques you used that were prominent. I think you should definitely continue with a similarly themed EP. I'm not super smart on critiquing the mix aspect, but it sounds pretty nice t...
