Re: Youlean Loudness Meter
Thanks! The PRO version is great. What I use for metering is the Klanghelm VUMT Deluxe using K-weighted RMS metering. For exporting I am using YouLean with Loudmax limiter to export to -16 LUFS and -1 DBFS peak for podcasts. For music I use -14 LUFS but I guess that's not so important since auto gai...

I am a huge Cakewalk RE-2A fan for many years. Now I prefer the H-Comp. It's such a fantastic compressor. A classic.

Re: best headphones?
Cool! I am using Sennheiser HD600 for many years and love them too. 650 have a little more bass if I am correct.
The HD600 are the only headphones I ever used on which electric guitars sounds fine. Monitors are very forgiven, but headphones are super revealing.

Power down? I never had this issue. Recording with laptops works great. I am using Ableton mostly when I am on a location and need to multitrack stuff.

Re: What features does Reason DAW have that others don't?
For sounddesigners it's also great that when you create for example Subtractor patches in R11 you can load these in older versions. Often in DAW the presets are not downward compatible. In Reason they are and it's great.

Re: What features does Reason DAW have that others don't?
I like the tracking in Reason, being able to cycle record and slice the best parts. In Ableton Live this works way more inconvenient.
I've bought so many DAWs over the years. Cubase, Nuendo, Cakewalk (hated it). I think if I would start again, now, I would buy Logic. So cheap and so powerful.

Re: Waves H-Comp Compressor free in Shop just now.
locking the release to tempo sync works nicely. unique compressor. https://twitter.com/Melodiefabriek/status/1298229856686219265 What makes it unique? Sync modes? The Mace has it all. Yes love the sync mode. For this piece the Cakewalk RE-2A didn't really work, but this one did. Can do super steady...

Re: Brand new Reason Studios Instrument : Friktion Strings
I, too, would love to see audio access to the resonator section as an effect. That is a missed opportunity. We don't have many resonators available, really. Kong has something, Radical Pianos and Turn2On has an RE. I think that's about it, isn't it? Regarding the resonator, it's in many ways one of...

Creativity and imagination is what I believe in.
Being smart is not so important to me. I am learning all the time. However, social smartness is something I am interested in. The interaction between thoughts and feelings.

Mics are non-lineair as well. But so is our hearing. So even when things are lineair we often perceive them as non-lineair. I guess that's a good thing. Keeps things fresh.

Re: The “problem” with impulse response for amp cabinet sounds
No I haven't. I just checked and they don't have an IR for the current production Celestion speakers I'm using in my cabs anyway. I've googled and don't see any IR's for them elsewhere either. Not to mention combined with the cab I'm using. So once again, if I'm tasked with reproducing my real setu...

I see what you're saying. I personally feel it's dubious that the files are still hosted by Propellerhead on their servers! Given what we now know, is that not essentially supporting a form of piracy? If NI never made a copyright claim (according to this they haven't https://forum.reasontalk.com/vi...
