If it still isn't Bitley's 50th just yet I wonder if the 50th sale could be extended, even for just a few hours :o
Ok - fixed it! See above please :)

Re: 50th anniversary coming up

Um Nobody's Diary is of course brim full of analog (on the 45 (rpm) lol) as you can hear. So no he used a healthy combination of everything. Wasn't saying he used only that - I meant that I preferred the balanced approach before 1991 happened. Get the balance right - as they said ;) By the way, you...

Re: Do you have any fun or exciting ideas for the new Combinator?

Well I can clearly say that the refill market is alive and kicking. And forums like this give proof that so is Reason. I don't know any serious musician who would enjoy playing stolen instruments and the same goes for refills really. You would collaborate with someone having a personal Reason licens...

Re: Do you have any fun or exciting ideas for the new Combinator?

Ah yes you mean so but that's a means to create a more Reason-talking UI anyway, which is great! :) I've tried many editors of course including the CTRLR ones. It's a mystery to me why Reason never has been able to talk sysex as I've used it for storing sounds (in particular) for centuries. The most...

Re: 50th anniversary coming up

Oh thank you :) I'm just a desillusioned space traveller like anyone but I always found the Fairlight amazing so I had to give that a little attention ;) Turned out I found a whole world of sounds where I would go: Oh THAT was what Yazoo used - and that's not focusing on Sararr (or ARR1) at all but ...

Re: Wolgang Palm's universe

Further down in the rabbit hole, we've got to back to what Depeche Mode toyed with on Some Great Reward; perhaps their great reward from the Speak & Spell sales was: Getting a PPG synthesizer. This majestic old german machine was Wolfgang Palm's great achievement and still 40 years later it sounds m...

Re: Do you have any fun or exciting ideas for the new Combinator?

Lol! Reason has absolutely zero Sysex compability. When I think Sysex I think Atari days, which is why I've kept an ST for many years, powerful as ever in its own world. Dude! I have a VST that send Sysex to my Korg Poly 800. I can control the VST with the new combinator and send Sysex! You can now...

Wolgang Palm's universe

I'd like to know if you guys have compared PPG, Waldorf synths ... Subtractor and Thor? Thor has some PPG wavetables actually so it would be exciting if we could discuss / elaborate on this and go on a deep wavetable synthesis journey together. :-) Regarding Subtractor - I did quite a lot of studies...

Re: Mimic: New Creative Sampler

They open up new ways of viewing Reason for sure but this great zooming and transient detection should really exist (in this way) in the sequencer as well, and tempo detection would help me so much right now - doing that manually when remixing and when restoring old recordings. Something I really wo...

Re: Need your advices!

Yes midi in itself is exactly precise. Lousy hardware can mess it up (very rarely though) but the data is pure.

(It would be like claiming all microphones are bad because yours is.)

Re: Will there be a need for a new Refill Packer?

I am surrounded with vintage digital synths, hardware samplers, an Atari, old macs and stacks of floppy disks so no, my macbook on the other hand is a self contained complete studio in itself —a seriously futuristic, pleasant to carry around toolkit; make music anywhere, even without electricity for...

Re: Will there be a need for a new Refill Packer?

Well zip files existed back then too and that wasn't part of the idea, but it's about understanding (and approving of) the extreme thoughtfullness Propellerhead / Reason Studios always has had behind everything. The whole notion of "we have much better ideas" is: Missing the point. But I guess the c...
