Re: Reason Studios needs to release a statement on the future of the DAW.
When I started using Reason back in 2001 it was a completely different company. So I'll believe it when I see it. I kind of agree that it was completely different. My thoughts are that Ernst always had a mindset of not wanting to innovate the DAW. He had a Steve Jobs type approach of closing the en...

It's the business model of a venture capital group who's primary business is "flipping businesses".

Re: Reason Studios needs to release a statement on the future of the DAW.
More important to work on feature that users have to pay for then actual updates. Good point. New features/devices draws new customers, so from a business point that makes sense. But if you keep ignoring your current customers, than that plan will backfire in the end. (as it looks to is happening n...

Re: Reason Studios needs to release a statement on the future of the DAW.
Coming back on topic.. I do think RS needs to share an updated version of the timeline. Giving users perspective might keep them from shopping elsewhere. And in his public statement the new CEO himself said how important it was to keep in contact with the user base. If RS is not in the position of f...

Re: Reason Studios updates their roadmap (November 17, 2021)
However you look at it, it is very clear that Reason 12 was NOT ready for release.
RS should have waited 6 months or so and release a complete, stable version rather than a faulty, crippled version and get a lot of flak from the user base. This does more harm to the brand.

Re: Reason Studios updates their roadmap (November 17, 2021)
I know people were half/not-joking about M1, but keep in mind that "M1" and "M2" are just marketing terms for Apple Silicon, which is in the "arm64" architecture family, just like "Intel Core" is marketing within the "x86/x64" architecture family. In other words, M2 will still use the base architec...

Re: "I use Reason" reaction
I am old. I used to have a studio FULL of hardware (Atari) computers, synths, modules, drumcomputers and effect units and with that hundreds and hundreds of (MIDI) cables. When Reason came out it was amazing: all the synths and effects you wanted and no more cable crap. So I sold all of my hardware ...

Re: Bassline Generator is Here... Check Your Companion...
Well if it makes you feel better, I don't see the point in patches by designers for something that is supposed to generate basslines. Might as well just create MIDI packs if people want premade basslines. I already feel that way a bit with the scale restriction on this. If it uses a combination of ...

Re: New Pricing for Reason 12 - Upgrades now 199 from 129
So as the poll stands now about 12% of users are (sort of) OK with the new price, but 88% (!!!) is NOT. The CEO and board of directors might be wise to have another think about this move. It's the sort of thing a company can not go back on once it's been put out there It happens all the time. Just ...

Re: New Pricing for Reason 12 - Upgrades now 199 from 129
Why? Because with the standalone version you can decide to NOT upgrade and carry on using the version you have forever. Whereas... with the subscription you HAVE to keep paying each month That's my worry. As soon as enough people are pushed to the subscription model, those prices will increase too....

That said, of course we are aware that R12 has some stability issues and bugs, which we are focusing on squashing as we speak. We hope to deliver that to you all as soon as we possibly can! Hello James, Just one note from my point of view. I wouldn't call the half (or 2/3) finished HD feature in th...

Maybe it's me, but you could also read that statement as "Reason 12 wasn't ready yet, but we released it anyway and now you have to wait for months untill we are finished" 😬 Totally agree. I have paid for a beta. Rush released. Unfinished until January 2022. Speaks volumes that, in less than a week...

Re: Hardware or soft synths
Years ago I sold ALL of my hardware synth's, mixers, (MIDI)interfaces, effect-units, etc. I was just fed up with all the cables everywhere and the hassle of connecting all my gear. I was so happy to have it all in software form, but.... Two months ago I came across Behringer's Monopoly and was so ha...
