Oh this old thread lol. I'd like to see the combinator concept rebuilt from the ground up. Keep it as a device in the rack but have it pop up in the sequencer like the Regroove Mixer as a macro type of device. All devices inside remain so in the old way, but do all of your "combinating" in a pop up ...

For me it seems that the Suite would be totally worth it money wise, so if I do change my mind and decide to upgrade it'll be worth it. As of now I have so much shit that I've bought and never use, and my musical ouput has to drastically increase to justify getting even more shit that I may never use.

I remember using my cracked copy of Cool Edit Pro back when I was a teenager and beats exported from Scream Tracker 3 and later Impulse Tracker. If teenage me had 10.4 my mind would be blown at all this whining.

A significant GUI overhaul has been my threshold marker for upgrading to R11, though I am tempted by some of the features and the mixer functions implemented in the Rack. At least give us some sort of scaling, but a reskinning of everything with hi-res graphics would be preferable.

My wish is a bit pie-in-the-sky but is the ability to use Reason 11 as a VST 2. My favourite DAW is Renoise and sadly it doesn't natively support VST 3. I regularly rewire Renoise to Reason, using Renoise as my sequencer and the rack as my sound source. I'm sure there is a way to wrap a VST3 in Ren...

That's great seeing taktik himself confirm this. I have Renoise although I dont use it too often. The tracker workflow takes some getting used to, but once you get the keyboard shortcuts down it's a very fast way to work.

This beats out the Digitakt on multiple levels. I'll be keeping my eye on this one for sure.

This thing looks pretty great, glad to see Roland back in the groovebox game. My Digitakt is feeling a little afraid. They also have a budget version called the MC101.

Every time I've considered going modular, I open up my copy of VCV Rack and painstakingly put together a patch from scratch. Every time I have to add a device I add $100 to the cost of this patch. This alone stays the modular GAS for me.

Reason was introduced to me by a buddy way back in the Reason 3 days. At the time I was cranking out beats in Impulse Tracker. Had Reason never existed I'd likely have migrated to Renoise eventually.
