Re: Logic Pro X resources impact vs Reason
Thanks for the responses! Yes, I am aware it's not possible to make an accurate benchmark between, say, Alchemy and Subtractor etc.. That's why I was hoping to hear from those who use both programs on the same computer if they ever noticed Reason being overall 'lighter', generally speaking in every-...

Logic Pro X resources impact vs Reason
Hello! I know "Logic vs Reason" has been debated a lot, but I have a more specific question to those of you who regularly use both programs. On one hand, it's generally said that Reason is extremely efficient in comparison to other DAWs, but I was wondering how it actually compares in terms of CPU s...

Re: Making money with music
Speaking of. :) Beyonce's Single ladies is a top quality song in my view. The album production is astonishingly amazing in its minimalism (rather complex harmonic structure, yet arranged mostly with percussions and few melodic elements). YET, this famous rehearsal version is equally blowing my mind....

Re: Making money with music
That's true, and I really feel surprised that people prefer to hear live music. It sounds always worse than the studio product Good points, and about the live performance not sounding as good as the record,, I must agree on that, in most cases it's true. I'm assuming you're referring to the sound q...

Re: Credible house music loop on Reason 9?
Nice, I wasn't aware of the drifting thing. Is it possible it was a bug? If intentionally implemented, on analogue instruments, that's impressive. Way beyond shuffle.

Re: Making money with music
That dawned on me ages ago. Hence l'm surprised that DAWs overlook the live music paradigm (even Ableton, to an extent). DAWs ought to consider live performance as a primary purpose, because that's how music has been since the dawn of time, plus it's instant gratification, making music accessible a...

Re: Credible house music loop on Reason 9?
I'm not even sure it's proper "house", but having played drum machines and groove-boxes since I was a teen, I inevitably had tons of fun just sequencing away all sorts of sounds on a 16th grid, over a 4/4 kick. Nowadays if I want to recreate that in Reason, I just drag wav samples into a 4-bar loop ...

Re: Credible house music loop on Reason 9?
Hi. I'm not familiar with loops so hopefully someone else will suggest something. Meanwhile... being tun-tz tun-tz dance music, in a program such as Reason, you may try and pencil-in some kick and hats in the sequencer. It's much fun :) This video may be helpful! It also goes through some loops. htt...

Re: What's 'Enable Monitoring for Track'?
If the mic has ways to be heard with or without the computer, then Monitor is not necessary, unless you want to hear some signal processing that's happening in your DAW. In most straight forward setups in which the mic goes into the interface, Monitor is the only way you can hear what's being record...

Re: Any RE for Voice samples (Ah, Do, etc) a la Ensoniq Mirage?
If you are comfortable with dialling your own NN19 sound, you could literally sample yourself doing "daah" and "ohh". Then trim the attack a bit, adjust the decay, switch off Hi-Quality, and perhaps apply a tiny bit of Digital distortion with Scream. Also, a good trick to get the old sampler sound i...

Re: A Question for 8cros (or possibly others)
I get what you're saying with one huge exception… Just to keep things on track and clear, when you compare the "people" of Russia to the "government" of the USA, it's not a fair comparison IMO. I have personally never met ANYONE here in the USA who supported forcing our way of life, such that it is...

Re: A Question for 8cros (or possibly others)
I wasn't aware of that bombing prognosis. Very funny :puf_bigsmile: But it is not funny that US&A hates Russia so much. Most people I know in Russia are quite realistic (people are people) and do not feel the omnipotence god-given right to go submit every nation to a certain way of life, because eve...

But isn't the blonde woman the evil one? Didn't she claim an aggressive stance against Rus? Compared to a wall-border, it seems much more concerning. Much more.

Re: Radical piano vs piano refill
I still think Radical Piano can sound very natural, and for me it wins over any Refill for these reasons:
- Friendly interface
- Ultra-low memory impact
- Endless tweaking +adjustable mechanical noise

Re: Lets be honest :)
Whilst some drugs may enhance a person's creative output, this all happens while the person's perception is also enhanced or (most likely) deceived. Hence the classic situation of listening back to some 'dope jam' from last nite and realising it's quite bad after all :) Having said that, substances ...

Fiddled with it a little bit, but stuck with Ableton until I switched to R8.
The lack of audio tracks put me off, and the synth playground approach could vastly be satisfied with Reaktor and MaxMSP.
I'm glad now things are much simpler and I only use one program.
