Oracle Reverb
Just bought this for £13 (normally £130 apparently) and had a quick play with it. Wow. So many easy to use and effective controls and sounds great - proper nice bit of kit. Can't really commend it highly enough at the price, well worth a look and it honestly looks like something the Props woulda don...

Re: identical performance after bouncing everything to audio
Hi all I've got an overly complicated song that I thought would be much easier to mix if I bounced almost everything to audio, which I did track by track. I've now got 63 tracks of audio and only 2 rack synth tracks left that are playing a not too complicated bassline and some synth chords for a vo...

Re: identical performance after bouncing everything to audio
:SOLVED: I've noticed the computer fan getting louder for a while now so just on the off chance I opened it up and found the heat-sink between the CPU and the CPU fan was coated in a 3mm thick layer of dust so I got a knife between the fan blades and scraped the dust off and hoovered it out of there...

Re: identical performance after bouncing everything to audio
Update - I copied the song file to a USB stick, took it to work and opened it on my iMac. I've taken the built in input and output down to a buffer size of 64 samples and added a Thor to check what the latency is like and it's non-existent. I'm now listening to the song played back from the USB stic...

Re: identical performance after bouncing everything to audio
Hi guys, I've got a 2 TB 7200 rpm WD Blue HDD, 4 GHz I7 4790 CPU and 16 GB RAM. The song file is only 2 GB so I would have thought from a performance point of view it would make sense for Reason to copy all the audio (in fact the whole song file) into RAM rather than stream it from disk. SSD would o...

Re: identical performance after bouncing everything to audio
Hi Selig, there's 63 tracks at 24 bit 44.1 Khz. Mostly I'll have around the same amount of tracks but a mix of audio and midi and would routinely have to up the buffer rate to be able to cope. I wouldn't usually bounce everything but thought this may be beneficial as things were getting overly compl...

Re: synthmaster automation
HI mate, you cracked it for me - that works a treat - many thanks :D It's group 36 - layer 1 filter cutoff if anyone else is looking for this. Combi learn function would probably be the best way to go and I can't imagine it would be too difficult to implement so fingers crossed. Tutorial would proba...

synthmaster automation
Anyone managed to successfully get automation working with Synthmaster? I'm just trying to automate the cutoff but no automation is recorded.
Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, I did look but couldn't find anything.

I'm on Win 10 and my Balance needs disconnecting and reconnecting again at least once a session but then that is an unsupported version of Windows and the Balance is getting on a bit now to be fair. Have you tried another USB cable?

Cheers guys, very tempted to pull the trigger on the Pro series Compressors. Haven't got any other compressors than the Props stock stuff and obvs the SSLso like hmmm can I afford £50 and are they worth it??

Re: I feel sad
Your new TV should be fine mate. Try maybe using a different cable and looking a little deeper into your video settings. A TV probably won't be quite as sharp as a dedicated monitor (depending on the quality of the TV) but should be more than capable of displaying the output from a computer. Remembe...

Re: Synthmaster
This is the synth that I'm most interested in using within Reason. I also have my Sylenth1 install from an old group-by that I got for Sonar, but I stopped using Sonar years ago, so no more Sylenth fun... But now I get to have Sylenth1 & Synthmaster, both in Reason!? Holy s#!t Can't wait to Combi t...

Re: Balance with Windows 10?
Mine works ok with Win 10. Few little quirks like having to unplug it and plug it back in occasionally but thankfully I haven't had any of the problems others report. And no I wouldn't be very happy also if I had these problems and Props wouldn't help.

Re: What's the best way to get a warm sound in Reason using Reason effects?
I've tried it on individual tracks and not found it as useful as over the whole mix but I haven't started out by putting it on every track by default. It's worth a try but I wouldn't think it's a patch on the Slate stuff!

Re: What's the best way to get a warm sound in Reason using Reason effects?
Not really. Every track gets treated individually depending on what it needs and if it's warmth then I'll try a number of different things rather than rely on a default method - the Scream4 CompressMaster is just like a big friendly hug before everything gets out into the big wide world. If you're t...

Re: What's the best way to get a warm sound in Reason using Reason effects?
Try Scream4 in the master section with the CompressMaster preset.
You want to put it in there to start with really as it can change the sound quite a bit, but to me it's like wrapping everything up in my favourite blanket!

System crash after 9.2.1d12 update
Maybe just me but that was a real wtf moment. Win 10, used Reason for an hour or so, chose to install on quit and after quitting opened Chrome maybe 5 minutes later. Bye Bye computer! It's come back up again so no biggie and the update is flagged again in Reason. Think I'll give this one a miss for ...

Re: Bad format error
I haven't had any problems yet with 9.2 (fingers crossed) but good advice to avoid this kind of situation is to save the song file with a different name after any major revisions - I usually append the date to the end of the filename. Also if you're on Windows you could try right clicking the reason...
