Re: Poll: What would you like to see Props focus on going forward?

Caustic is pretty full featured - one of if not the best mobile app going. No one seems to know about it and it hasn't been updated in awhile but it's still the best I've used.

Re: Poll: What would you like to see Props focus on going forward?

3) Sequencer: group multiple MIDI/Audio tracks into foldable groups. 4) Sequencer: A Cubase-like drum mode for sequencer track, instead of having to use the regular note representation for drums. 5) Better preset management that lets you find sounds faster (perhaps being able to tag sound patches w...

Re: Poll: What would you like to see Props focus on going forward?

I voted for hi-res gui (hopefully accompanied by modernized gui manipulation) and sequencer but you didn't even include the thing that's more important to me than everything on this list put together - full VST support. right now Reason kinda sorta works with some VSTs but only if they aren't the la...

Re: Today's "Why Can't I?" Moment

I still have this moment of "Why can't I interact with a RE without accidentally dragging it?" You also see this in videos of other users and it's been mentioned time over time. One gets used to it, but sometimes it is just annoying - especially when working on smaller screens. YMMV THIS! This is s...

Re: Zoetrope for your pleasure

What's so special about it? Feature-wise it looks like one of those EUR/$19 synths from Skrock Music. Not to mention the GUI looks appears as if it was created in early days of RE environment with factory template... Zoetrope sounds great to me - the list of other RE synths that have pretty bare bo...

Re: Why aren't PH updating their devices (case for Players)?

They simply can't win! i'm not having a go either way really, I just find it interesting and like the speculation 👍🏼 Not only can they win, it's dead stupid simple to get it right and kind of amazing they've been as lost as they have for as long as they have as a company. Get rid of the stupi...

You can't sell updates to existing devices for $70 per customer and PHs don't get out of bed in the morning for any less.

Re: Compression REs

FRG on drums and bass. My favorite for sure. Love it. RE-2A. Great on leads. They're both very simple to use and they just work with very little effort. Mace on the other hand. Tried it and gave it a couple of chances to grow on me. Didn't like it at all. Even though this one is probably the most f...

i use Mace all the time - none of the other RE compressors come close in terms of flexibility and if I could only keep one it would be the easy choice.

Re: The DAW update challenge!?

The only thing PHs should be doing in relation to mobile right now is acquiring or officially supporting Delora software's superb rsTouch controller app for Reason - that would be infinitely more valuable to their users than this idiotic mobile app.

Re: The DAW update challenge!?

If you replace any one of those with -compact update. I'd ditch compact instantly. Mobile music software isn't for me. Even if I could try it, which I can't because I'm on Android, I'd feel disapointed in downgrading from a whole arsenal of devices, effects and even the sequencer as simple as it is...

Re: Propellerheads PolyStep Sequencer

I’ll have to give this player a trial, hopefully it pops up in the rewards :) No device with a normal price below $99 has been included in the "rewards shop" to date. Also, after initial promises that the products in the rewards shop would change and rotate on a regular basis, which they have since...

Re: The DAW update challenge!?

there seems to be a near universal consensus on this forum that v11 should focus primarily or entirely on gui modernization and a major overhaul of the sequencing and editing workflow. since almost all of their customers not only agree that this is what Reason desperately needs, but agree that prior...

Re: Predicting Reason 11’s release date

I’ve said many times that I’d like to see virtual MIDI cables added on the back of the rack along with MIDI IN/OUT/THRU ports. Allow midi routing with virtual cables like we can now with audio. Allow virtual cable routing of any incoming midi controller data. Have dual midi outs for the players to ...

Re: The DAW update challenge!?

What struck me was the Germany guy who demoed the new midi features. It seemed he was working on actual tracks and experiencing the short comings in 4.0 ("clunkyness") and making sure the developers fix it in 4.5. They clearly have a vision to drive work flow improvements and they use S1 themselves...

Re: Reason Compact 2.0

if you're interested in mobile music apps you should be aware of (in addition to reason compact) auxy, caustic, and korg gadgets. I'm sure most everyone is familiar with auxy and gadgets, but caustic is a relatively undiscovered gem, in part due to single cell software's (one guy) indie design sensi...

not a trumpe, not some trumpets, THE TRUMPET. 3. Seriously though, if you need realer trumpets than that you might be a Dr. of Trumpets. Not all of the free Kontakt player stuff is up to this standard iirc.

can anyone explain Echobode to me?

I'm a sucker for great Reverb and Delay effects and every time I get Echobode out I'm blown away again by how musically useful it is - it's almost impossible to get an uninteresting sound out of it and the range of stuff it's capable of is incredible. I've read the manual, but I've never been clear ...

Re: People Requesting a New Sequencer

The most annoying thing for me about the sequencer is that its near-impossible to hit the first note of a sequence when hitting record, it doesn't take in to account which notes are already pressed before you start recording. I always have to go and edit it manually. yup, real punch-in punch-out is...

it turned out most of the softphonics stuff was ripped off Kontakt libraries so the embouchre sounds are going to be sampled not synthesized if i'm not mistaken. same with chamberton to some degree as the instrument the sounds are taken from used tape samples not synthesis as such. that said, i unde...

On the Cubase website. All versions 50% off. I will Rewire into it and then never care if Reason gets a decent sequencer or not. :P Cubase has a decent sequencer? :? it's hard to look at, but in many ways it's state of the art. pro tools is still arguably better for intensive audio editing and logi...

Re: Propellerhead Software Names Niklas Agevik as CEO

I'd like to see an ambitious attempt to grow Reason's share of the prosumer music making market. The obvious company to look at is Ableton. With roughly twice the yearly revenue of Propellerhead Software, and around five times as many employees, they have managed to create an identity as one of the...
