Re: Ensoniq ASR-10 documentary.. Illmind (producer, Eminem, Kanye) references Reason!

While perusing old Ensoniq hardware videos, I found this old (2013) documentary on the ASR-10 (my favorite hardware sampler workstation of all time).  Turns out that !llmind  not only used an ASR-10, but also Reason.  The screen shot is stock, but it's kind of cool that RE's were plugged in the vid...

Re: Offline authorization will be discontinued for R11 and earlier - This is serious

It’s a different world. The Atari ST was a completely different product platform (also, try finding suitable replacements for Atari components that need to be replaced after 30+ years - it’s not easy). By that logic, my Ensoniq SQ1 Plus still works. But yeah, it sucks that Reason 11, 10, etc could s...

Re: 4gb export limit.

The limit might not be "imposed" by Reason Studios. The WAV file format is limited to a max 4GB size, if I am not mistaken, and AIFF to 2GB. A workaround is to export to W64 or RF64, but I doubt Reason supports these, plus, they are less stable than AIFF/WAV. D'oh! Well there you go - nothing to do...

Re: 4gb export limit.

As the subject suggest, I want to know why Reason exports are limited to 4gb. Yeah that's weird - not sure why that's still a thing in 2023. Originally the limitation was in place to ensure compatibility with various hardware and software systems and to prevent excessively large file sizes that cou...

no i get that and that’s what i’m saying about ai ( think the op changed the title ) it can’t do it all for you yet ,it’s just a useful tool to help you , so this idea that ai is going to replace us is a bit way too soon Oh no doubt - the whole paranoid fear of "A.I. will replace us" is far too pre...

I mean, most likely because they are very smartly trying to maximize their bottom line selling hardware for the highest dollar possible (that is fairly costly to manufacture). It's only been on the market for what - 3 & 1/2 months? It'll go on sale for sure, but they're waiting for the holidays to k...

Re: Bring Back Rewire or a New Solution for DAW Sync

I'd wager people grossly overestimated how many users were still actually using ReWire when they released RRP and deprecated the tech. It clearly wasn't enough for them to keep updating ReWire and keep it active, otherwise they would have. And judging from the immense amount of new users that appear...

What DAW do you use for your film/tv productions? If it supports Ableton Link, then your solution is already in Reason. Otherwise, it's RRP in any DAW you want.

Re: Reason history -- from the year 2000 till this day

I don’t know. Re: Reason history -- from the year 2000 till this day

Sure ? From the product page : Valhalla VintageVerb™ features 20 classic digital reverbs and 3 color modes inspired by the most beloved reverb hardware from the 1970s and 1980s. OK, so maybe Sean left out the Lexicon 480L, TC Electronic Reverb 6000 and AMS RMX-16 from those 20+3? https://media.giph...

Re: Reason history -- from the year 2000 till this day

I’ve replaced the RV-7000 with Valhalla Vintage Verb and it's like night and day. Now perhaps the reverb style I was looking for was just not doable by the RV-7000, but whatever the reason (heh) I’m happier with a non-stock verb. Could be a matter of preference. Reason's RV7000 still sounds as clos...

I also just bought FL Studio because I'm curious to learn other DAWS. I chose Ableton Live instead. And Push 3 does look ve...

Of course.. But the new owner could certainly kill off old license servers for R12.6 and force everyone to upgrade to R14 at some point. They would certainly have that power ...because... the underlying mechanism is no longer permanent. I mean sure - they certainly could - but as I described above,...

Not following you here, Reason 12 did not end permanent licenses Well.... they kinda-sorta did with the 12.6 update. Pick whatever scenario you want, maybe far fetched, but still.. company deactivates R12.6 copy protection because R14 is "better"... or the company can't keep the lights on and goes ...
