Re: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X vs Intel i9 9900K
The Ryzen 3900X looks like it might be my next build. My aging 3770K has long felt a bit sluggish, and now that AMD looks like it fixed its performance for lower sample buffer settings, I can't stop looking at the Ryzen 3900X. Never thought I'd build an AMD machine again, but here I am. Really? IMH...

Re: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X vs Intel i9 9900K
Oh well, Found the original article the graphic comes from; I had hoped it would be a comparison tool, but not so. Unfortunately this guy insists on overclocking, which as a rule I wouldn’t ever do. It does however give me the idea of looking around for articles which have done comparisons. I’m stil...

AMD Ryzen 7 3700X vs Intel i9 9900K
Hi folks, I’m about to change PC, as my i7 is feeling a bit long in the tooth now (3770K) and I was just hoping some of you kind folk could impart your collective wisdom. I’m looking at the above 2 processors, both of which have excellent benchmarks for my requirements, in terms of both single threa...

Re: Future purchase: RE or VST equivalent.
What did I say that's false? Perhaps a better question would be about the quantity of your original statement being true. You are interpreting a set of facts in a negative way, because you obviously desire to do so. Perhaps you should step away from the internet and take time out to smell the roses.

Re: Korg Triton vst
I own the Triton Studio still to this day and the pianos from 17 years ago still blow Reason trash pianos and horns away period end of discussion. I started with Reason on 2.5 and been saying this since the old PUF. Nobody who owns multiple DAWs looks towards Reason for authentic sounds. Reason str...

Re: Korg Triton vst
Very probably the most over-rated piece of music hardware in history. A friend of mine had one, and I had extensive experience of using it. In the end, when he offered it to me on the cheap, I couldn't justify the cost, because I was using Reason 2.5 at the time and a Midiman Keystation 49, which co...

Re: Re of the Year
What about Complex-1, was that this year? I thought it was. That’d be my vote for synth of the year but if it’s outside of 2019 then SKP Zoetrope is great for a debut synth. As for the rest of them, I’d go with PolyStep as best Player, but I haven’t demo’d Sequences yet, and I know they are very clo...

Re: Why does putting an eq on my mono track convert it to Stereo?
Am I doing somthing wrong? When I add a Fabfilter Pro Q 3 Eq to my mono Kick drum it changes it to stereo - and we don't want that do we! According to the Fabfilter website the eq adapts when it knows its mono or stereo and follows suit. Obviosley I don't want the kick drum in stereo. Anybody else ...

Not familiar with the Rokit series but KRK's are usually equipped with shelf switches on the back.
Have a look there first.

Re: If you could ask Reason Studios one question...
I'd ask them one single question: "Why?!". Love it :D Although it could backfire, of course, and you find out what is making someone feel guilty on a personal level. You expect to hear an answer related to new hardware solutions and are afflicted with a confession about bodies under floorboards! :p...

Re: Sonic Charge Bitspeak
The VST is about 20 quid cheaper too, which leaves me a little conflicted. If there is a RE version and a VST then I prefer to get the RE, but if the VST is that much cheaper then I'm actually more likely to go buy something else than unnecessarily add more VST's to the rack. Thus it's a "no buy" fo...

Re: Dry/Wet Knob RE ?
Your best bet is a parallel mix bus, this should use any plugin's delay compensation information. Many FX will introduce a few samples of delay or some phase shifting / inversion. If you straight mix the pre-RE signal with an post-RE signal, you are likely to have some wacky phase cancellation / co...

Still use it occasionally for various FX etc. As a distortion and general FX unit it's still pretty decent, but guitar wise it's behind the times now.

Re: Dry/Wet Knob RE ?
Strictly speaking no, an FX device might not have a dry/wet, and there’s no guarantee that you can access a dry/wet controller via CV. That said, if you split a signal in 2, so that one goes out dry and the other to the fx processor then you can merge and cross fade them using a free RE called Morfi...
