Or you could just line them up the waves in the timeline view where you can make use of the Recycle + stretch combination.

Re: Reason 12.7.4 Release Notes

For anybody who wants to get consistent and exact sounding patches for all subsequent Reason versions, this is serious sound design issue. But they've fixed the bug. So backwards compatibility has not been broken. Even if the bug is fixed now, it has broken the patch compatibility because using pat...

Re: Reason 12.7.4 Release Notes

The fact that the latest versions of Reason can introduce bugs into the old devices worries me. I thought that there is no reason to touch the device's sound engine code at all when implementing other DAW new features and changes. But if this happens and bugs occur in older devices, it means that p...

Re: open source millitary percussion beats available?

There's a lot of variation available to percussionists. Just think of what a percussionist can do with a single drum! The simplest approach that hasn't changed in the last 30 years is to stitch samples together. Alternatively, you can try key-switching with the more advanced instruments you'd find i...

Re: Looks like Reason Studios have redesigned their site...

I don't care for the new design, but what worries me is priority support for Reason+ subscribers. What will be next? Dark theme only for subscribers? Service updates only for subscribers? More than 5kb/s download bandwidth only for subscribers? Was pointing that out really necessary? I now feel lik...

Re: Looks like Reason Studios have redesigned their site...

The video is too jumpy to play automatically on the home page. At the very least let it breathe for a few seconds. Other than that, the rest of the design is quite solid. There is a huge design flaw with the audio preview's playback control, because at the default browser width, the track position/d...

Re: Evaluating M1/2 Mac with 8GB RAM against Komplete Ultimate

Well, I've got a nice little tower for gaming (though I only play F12019 and occasionally that giant space game). ... ... But I just installed everything and found the Sonoma dropped support for exfat with the block&allocation config I had. I chose to back up my files and reformat to apfs. Better to...

Re: Reason 12 Performance

Windows's high-resolution timer is less predictable than macOS at high frequencies with many background threads. There are tricks to make up for it a little, and Steinberg and Ableton may have better approaches that work well for 64 frames than Reason. There's also the possibility that Cubase and Li...

Re: Selig Audio Live Stream Thursday Feb 8, 2024, 21:00 UTC

As always, an insightful video from Selig. Tbh, I think a lot of us here may be underestimating how much we can share. I spent a couple of hours with a mix engineer last year who showed me how each step in his processing stacks added to the mix. There were a few new tricks & techniques, but also a l...

Re: The improved Reason Search ...

It is the same as it launched in 12, though, right? What changed? How did it take you so long to figure out it was not bad? So many questions, will probably never get an answer 🤷‍♂️😂 I ran the Windows version at launch and it must certainly was not this fast. That being said, I only ran the search ...

The improved Reason Search ...

After the disappointment of the "improved" search when R12 was launch, I hadn't checked its progress until today.

I'm surprised. They really did improve it!

At least on OSX, it's search is now comparable to all of the other DAWs instead of being 100x slower.

Bravo!

Search is now usable.

Re: AI - Cheating or just evolution?

And this is what was always inevitable. It was obvious to all in the field that we were within a few years of using it to generate pretty realistic vocals and creating convincing audio samples. But Lora is an absolute game-changer. It's not just the fact that it creates convincing images, but the fa...

YouTube Premium does not exist ...

The #1 motivation for getting YouTube Premium is removing ads. But now, most content creators include ads (promos) in their videos. YT Premium customers still suffer another consequence of ads - appeasing the algorithm and advertisers. And self-censoring. To monetize a channel via ads, content creat...

Yes, ... I was more than happy with M1 8gb performance (even with MacBook air).

I found 16 GB M1 Mac mini with 1tb SSD for £720.

It arrived today in immaculate condition.

I'll have to wait until Saturday to give it a spin as I've got a lot of installing to do.

You mean kontakt is streaming from the external SSD, yes? Looking forward to hearing your results 👍 Yes. I've been using a low cache for a couple of years now, but one track would grind my 6th gen i5 to a halt. It wasn't the most CPU-intensive track I had, but for some reason that laptop didn't lik...

I tell others every DAW has a demo and see what connects with you. What matters to a developer is if they can sustain income and hopefully no one acquires their company and ruins it.
This 100%.

That's an honest and humble approach that doesn't impose one's preferences on others.

Evaluating M1/2 Mac with 8GB RAM against Komplete Ultimate

I'm in the process of getting a cheap temporary Mac for the next year or two. It's either going to be 8 GB or 16 GB, and I'm veering more towards an M2 Mac Mini as I don't see much use for it on the bus ;) I've installed Komplete Ultimate on my mum's old M1 Macbook (fresh OSX install) with only 8GB ...

Re: Would you like to see Linux version of Reason?

But that's quite a lot of Linux support! My guess it's because of licensing and performance. Linux is free and much easier to optimize for single-purpose devices like groove boxes, so they can get away with low-level, mobile-grade CPUs and small RAM providing enough capacity, performance and stabil...

AI can be used for:

1. Audio separation (and is even being added to the MPC).
2. Audio restoration.
3. Generation of new instrument sounds.
4. Generation of new audio samples.
... and much more.

Re: Would you like to see Linux version of Reason?

Whenever you see someone using an MPC or Korg Wavestate, remember that they are using a bog standard RT Linux on a bog standard ARM CPU you can buy for $50. Push 3 Standalone runs Ableton Live on a 13th gen Intel i3 and a bespoke Linux version, but that one costs $2k w/o Live license, so I guess it...

Re: I borked my PC, will I have any issue activating R+ on a new machine?

Sorry to hear that :( But, on the flip side, it's sometimes good to start from the blank slate (so to speak). Also, Linux version of Reason would be great! Funnily enough, it was a bit of a blank slate and I'd not long reinstalled everything on that machine 😅 My iLok will be coming on Saturday. The...
