Re: Expanse 1.1 Update in the Shop!
Thanks for the explanation, fieldframe. I take it from what you said, then, that oscillator drop-downs aren't in the cards for the future of eXpanse. Anybody out there made a handy cheatsheet of the oscillator wavetables so that at least I can look at a pdf (or paper)? Wait, I'll check the manual fi...

Re: (dubstep) Look - Pale Male
Enormous kick drum and bass. Good lord. I love listening to things people make in Reason, even if it isn't my own working genres, just to see what this program is capable of.

Re: Expanse 1.1 Update in the Shop!
Thanks for the quick reply, VHS! I'll take a look at those distortion types and see if I can get the sound I'm looking for. Having fun playing with this thing. 2.I'm sure they would love to have drop downs for wavetables, but it seems they aren't able to at this time due to SDK restrictions. Might c...

Re: Expanse 1.1 Update in the Shop!
Sorry to be late to the party, but I'm just trying this now (after seeing miscend's video^ in another thread). Couple of questions: 1. Does anyone know if they're adding bitcrushing to the effects chain at a later point? I know I can send the dry audio into another RE (e.g. Decimort) and then run it...

That's probably the best sales pitch I've seen for eXpanse. Thanks for posting!

Love that main percussive loop, and the second loop that arrives later in the song. My inclination is always to throw chord progressions underneath these sorts of samples, so it's really refreshing to hear them presented without it.

Re: (Art pop?) Vocals and synths
Hey thanks for the suggestion, ionly! I played a bit with reverb on the vocals but didn't try anything so wild. Might not fit the sombre feel of the current mix, but I'm going to give it a shot nonetheless. Maybe it'll lead to an entirely different mix!

Re: Kilohearts kHs One just $19 and Reverser is FREE
Wow. Reverser is unbelievable. Clicking and Popping always ruin every reversed delay I've tried. The crossfade knob takes care of that with ease. Agreed. I'm really happy with this simple little unit. kHs One seems to overlap too much with a couple of other synths I'm working with right now (Red70 ...

For what it's worth, Reason 9 comes with a fantastic set of new features. It may seem minor, but the update to the factory sounds is alone worth the price, especially with your 20% discount.

(Art pop?) Vocals and synths
Just started working on vocal music again, and would love any feedback on how to better the sounds, mixes, etc. coming out of Reason. mFYtHjXc For the curious/interested: main pad is built from a sample of a single key press in Emotional Piano, time-stretched and reversed into an NNXT, with Synchron...

Anybody purchase from these guys before? I'm not familiar with the site, and I just don't want to hand over my data to somebody when I don't know they're legit. Hard to argue with that price.

Re: Softube TSAR-1 Reverb V Propellerhead RV7000?
For what it's worth, I found the smaller version (TSAR-1R) to have comparable sound quality and much quicker to reach the reverb sound I'm looking for. It's the same algorithm, I'm sure, and more tweaking options are nice of course, but if you're hesitant on the price of the TSAR-1, I'd recommend ch...

Re: CV - Do you use it? I don't.
For what it's worth, I don't think to use CV specifically. I just have a particular sound in mind (e.g. I have a pad and I think I want more texture/motion to it) and then use the tools Reason offers to get that sound. While different patches and REs have their own characteristic sound, sometimes im...

Just off the top of my head, is your master output fader set to 0.4? It will still determine your master output, and needs to be at 0 to have your output correspond with your Kratos output, I believe.

Hey! Longtime reader, first time poster. Just wanted to say thanks to all for being the best source of info on Reason and Rack Extensions on the internet. I've appreciated this resource for over a year! I demo'd a bunch of synths/instruments, including mono/poly, polysix, stringwerks, the A-list dru...
