Re: Reason 10 Lite (with Akai controllers)

Anyway, there are far more learned men and women who steer the ship. I'm fairly certain they know what they're doing. That is a weak argument, one I've been hit with often enough (about 3 times now here on RT alone) and frankly look at it as a compliment, even though it does tend to apply to the ma...

Re: Reason #Offended#Triggered

The contents of the original post have been swapped out. By myself - that in-between I'm baking a lemon cake! Almost ready! Gotta stir the jelly for it ~ Maybe I'm getting old, but having a difficult time following some of these threads :) For the record I'm hoping to get R10 lite today or tomorrow...

Re: Reason 10 Lite (with Akai controllers)

Sure but Live Lite is freely downloadable by anyone, plus I've never loaded freebs on a CD from any hardware purchase. Certainly I recognize my usage of reason is vastly different than many which is why I made the point, however I'd also argue a good portion of users typically wouldn't need more tha...

Re: Synapse sell out: All RE for 199

I can afford to buy what I want, however it wasn't long ago $150 was a huge sum of money to me, and is for most people at varying points in their life. I'm still extremely frugal anyway, and not an impulse buyer nor someone who derives pleasure from simply buying things. It's not a low price, but it...

Re: Akai Teams with Propellerhead to Create Reason Lite for Akai Controllers

I'm of a different mind and disagree. When I see "free software" with hardware (or piggy backed off of anything) I immediately think its not worth anything. Say that to the millions of Ableton Live users. Live Lite comes free with almost every product on the market. Now I think R10 lite is quite am...

Re: Akai Teams with Propellerhead to Create Reason Lite for Akai Controllers

Its a little less but still impressive. Also this is huge as reason has been falling behind by not getting its software in peoples hands enough. All these promotions will do is help us reason users continue to get better updates with bigger budgets. The more reason rises the ranks the better it is....

ableton edged fl studio out barely as my permanent I'm not sure why any of this is in the Sonar thread, but while we're here, I've been watching the changes to your signature over the past few weeks and I think you and I may have different definitions of the word "permanent"... I must admit, ...

Re: Low latency Reason on 5th gen i3 laptop, ...

Interesting, I wasn't aware of that solution. I'm on a laptop and generally run with both AC power and the battery connected. I seem to be getting perfectly good performance for the most part, not too many issues with drop-outs or anything. Given that, is switching to running without the battery so...

Re: Reason 10 Lite

I just had a look here: https://www.propellerheads.se/support/user/reason/whats-the-differences-between-reason-10-reason-intro-10-and-reason-lite-10/ R10 lite is in many ways better than R10 for someone like myself -- I have better equivalents of missing devices in REs or VSTs, and create my own sou...

oh yeah if you take the battery out with the cable plugged in that's almost like using a desktop.
Its a common problem but not common knowledge - just have to have had a lot of laptops to experience it with.

No guarantee that's the cause, but its the first thing I'd do in his situation.

Re: Low latency Reason on 5th gen i3 laptop, ...

I'm getting frequent clicks with a buffer size of 256 on my i3-5005U laptop with Digidesign MBox, 8GB RAM and 1TB HDD, even when just playing Radical Piano on its own. Clicks go through the roof when playing the default patch in Halion Sonic. I've got the laptop on high power mode when plugged in, ...

Re: Synapse sell out: All RE for 199

Its USA business strategy imo. Expand your business, make sales rather than profit, get aggressive into the market, get market share, repeat this until all other competitors are down and you are big. Now care on profit. This is pretty much how I view Waves' strategy of flogging their plugins for $2...

If I knew where Propellerhead was going with Reason this would be something I'd likely go for, even though I don't 'need' any of the devices.

Re: Samplers for Reason 9.5

When I tried Padshop pro, I decided I won't be buying any Steinberg products - it was paramount to some half-baked install routine on Windows 95 but with far worse consequences - a real mess of an install. If the install is crap I lose all interest in using it - install packages have been streamlin...

Hello All, The Clarett Thunderbolt interfaces have been out for a while but the USB I/Os are pretty new. I was wondering if anyone here was using a Focusrite Clarett USB interface on a Windows 10 machine with Reason 10. I'd like to hear from real world users. Thanks In Advance! I was ready to get t...

Re: Sonar is free.

How does it compare to Reaper? ;) I stopped using Sonar after X1, always liked it (because cakewalk was my 'first'). I just found Reaper to be more worth my time - small footprint and I had Reason as my 'instruments'. No traditional DAWs can compare to Reaper in the customizable/capability aspect -...

Re: Sonar is free.

Cakewalk (now sonar) was the first real pc-based DAW for the masses - it was THE big boy on the block even when ProTools took over the "pro" scene, minus the hardware. I loved it very much, DAW nostalgia to the highest, will never use again after the thousand+ projects I completely converted to RNSs...

Re: VSTs just further validate REs?

I can't imagine any long-term Reason user preferring VST over native RE (unless they think Reason is dying or like Antic stated). Just from supporting the RE devs who supported us alone its worth it. I am a long term user (Since release of version 3) The RE can only be used in Reason. Some of us ar...

Re: What HW do you use | is supported | can you recommend?

True about the native integration, however I'm so used to making my own specific maps for the controls I use the most. Also my KX-8 is used exclusively for actually playing, while the MPK249 is primarily controlling specific areas within reason.

Re: Not a single mention of GoldWave?!

Hello nostalgia! I used that in the 90s (for humorous manipulating voice message recordings of all things), then got into audition but it was far more than I needed and didn't want to keep upgrading. Nowdays I use Audacity or Ocenaudio. Reason's sample editing is absolutely trash, unacceptable for t...

Re: What Limiter are you using?

I've been digging into the FPGA stuff on the Discrete 4 recently, blown away this stuff is way far better than I expected, and its overwhelming the options to choose from. BA-6A is the one I've been using. They're still a bit tricky to easily use with routing and not having them available in Reason ...
