Re: Graphics update seems to be around the corner
People spend so much time worrying about how pretty and high res a synth GUI is, they forget that they were suppose to be making music with their ears and not their eyes  Sure, however its the scalable gui workflow myself and many others are specifically after - being able to focus on making m...

Re: Graphics update seems to be around the corner
Scalable GUI would be the one reason I'd jump on upgrading immediately. Everything else announced so far does nothing for me.

I won't be upgrading to "10" based on what I'm seeing.
I won't be 'upgrading' to 10 based soley on Propellerheads announcement. It's not an upgrade - it's just more of the same instrumentation with slight differences. I used R6 and upgraded to 9 only because I felt I should 'keep up', not because it was necessary. VST's were a plus in 9.5, however I've ...

Re: Reason 10 announced!
new synths look killer, new instruments look killer, new samples are very welcome, still holding out for scalable UI and some audio editing improvements but overall this looks like a killer upgrade. maybe there's more stuff under the hood we don't know about. scalable UI seems like the kind of thin...

Re: Reason 10 announced!
Meh. Reason doesn't need more synths, instruments, samples, loops... Zzzzz.....
Reason needs usability via a scaling UI. Has needed one for about 10 years now.

Re: Reason 9: Scalable Rack? I don't think so :(
Reason been needing a scalable UI for far too long.
People complain about the UI being tiny on huge resolutions, the problem in the past was it was too damn big took up too much screen and was impossible to easily navigate.

Re: My first experiences
Reason has it's ups and downs however I've stuck with it through the years. Their interface has been horrible though, they finally have it somewhat decent however they absolutely need to allow 'scaling' of the UI - my most wanted feature since Reason 3.

Re: Editing Samples, "updating" after editing, and QOL Tips
Certainly, however Reason's sample editor is bare-bones at best. I'm looking for a far more intuitive and efficient workflow as I work with a lot of sampling. Something as simple as editing a sample and trying to copy/paste parts of the sample around - can't do it, you can only crop full sections. A...

Re: Pianoteq 6 Released
You'd be surprised how gullible people are when they believe they are aware of absolute facts - plenty of "fake piano" comments when a real one is played back, plenty of "No Auto-Tune" Vocal claims yet there's obvious hallmarks of auto-tuning. The occasional amazing ears in a controlled environment ...

Re: Pianoteq 6 Released
I couldn't agree more - Pianoteq is simply amazing. I bought PTeq 4 pro and never looked back: *cheap upgrade path * able to adjust "my" piano sound in every conceivable way. *easy on the CPU on and on... *sounds more realistic on almost every level compared to samples (subjective sure, but not by m...

Editing Samples, "updating" after editing, and QOL Tips?
My audio source is in the sequencer audio track I just recorded. I choose it, then bounce clips to new sample. Right click in the browser, edit the sample, mainly adding simple fade ins/out but don't change the length of it. Now, I want to put that edited sample *exactly* back where it originated fr...

Best Vocal VSTs for vocoding, pitch shifting.
By 'best' I specifically mean a few things. 1: An option-supercharged amazing sounding vocoder. 2: A pitch shifter and formant that sounds as natural as can be done. I have a few in mind, however I'd like some opinions on which ones you like/use that are worth learning, and work well with Reason. An...

Thanks for the replies! Grabbed Noxious, will probably go Parsec next, but also have a vocal question I'm gonna post in the vst section.

Summer Sale: Luscious pads, sound effects, and voice manipulation. Suggestions?
I'm really hankering for some experimentation, and I'm purposely generalizing. Please help me get additional ideas with the current summer sale. What do you think would be the best for (difficulty in programming aside, I'll learn it if it's worth it): 1. Fat, interesting, pads. 2. Creating sound eff...

Re: Akai MPK249 - 4 instances show up in Reason Control Surfaces
Heya Carly yes I set it up initially following that guide. I can "uncheck" them of course, however I figured Reason was seeing some setting or channel or something that creates 4 virtual versions selectable via a key-press or channel change. Editing them, I see each instance the "in" and "out" port ...

Akai MPK249 - 4 instances show up in Reason Control Surfaces
And I have a few questions about this: Most importantly: I'd like to lock the 4 instances of the MPK249 to Patches in Reason (Right click the instrument, and there's an option to "Lock (WhateverControllerReasonSees) to this device". I currently have Pianoteq in reason (loopmidi) locked to my KX8, an...

Re: Akai MPK249 - Simple Patch change button?
Thanks guys, that helped me find it. You have to hit Control Bank "B" then change with S7 & S8 (which I assume is actually S15 & S16).
I have another question but I'm gonna make another topic for it.
Thanks again!

Akai MPK249 - Simple Patch change button?
I simply want to change patches and cant for the life of me figure out how with the default MPK249 hooked up to Reason 9. I figured it would be the "DAW Controls" buttons, left/right (since up/down works moving between sequencer lanes) but left/right doesn't do anything at all. I saw a video where t...

Re: Spiderman's "Electro" Voice? Approaches to Character Sound Design in Reason?
I've been making great progress in the few days I've had to work in Reason. Primarily layering the sound via the merger/splitter and experimental processing each 'layer'. I've also discovered (after sampling and studying the voice samples) that there's 'breath' control applied sparingly to give the ...

Re: Spiderman's "Electro" Voice? Approaches to Character Sound Design in Reason?
Appreciate the feedback guys! I do have bitspeek (got it in the May discount) but haven't messed with it much. I personally feel that with enough know-how, Reason would be the ideal platform for this type of production even though it's not specifically designed for it. I do feel I've a LOT to learn ...

Spiderman's "Electro" Voice? Approaches to Character Sound Design in Reason?
Title says it all. If you don't feel like reading any further, please help me understand how I would approach recreating his voice effects within Reason. Here's a good example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PyJ5ONLBpsw (from 19second to 27 seconds ' "Who are you"? and "I should kill you") I've bee...
