Also keep in mind that these plugins aren't just about Atmos, and aside from exporting binaural mixes, also for exporting in any of the various surround formats.

I imagine many others will follow suit which will leave plugins such as this trying to differentiate themselves as better than the built-in ones. That can be done but it's not so easy. Stereo-only DAWs would need major updates. I doubt very much that Reason and the other will have that any time soon.
