Re: Reason Rack as a VST
Funny, I was just about to post a topic about this! I have a very strong (perhaps optimistic) suspicion that we are going to see this at some point soon. Looking at the Europa VST, a lot of work has very clearly gone into the port to make it feel "Reason"-y. The fact that you can switch to the back...

Re: Sampling the Samplers....
I’m in 100% agreement with both of you, QVProd and Boombastix....and I agree that the samplers inside of Reason actually very capable....if I just want to sample an analog synth....say, my Moog....all I need is a VERY small snippet of sound. Slightly longer if I include PWM. I’m actually very good a...

Re: Hydlides rant about performance
That may very well be the case: when recording with OBS Studio, the Spectrum window isn't captured... I had to use a different screen capture system because of this very issue. As a side note, it seems to me as if Reason dedicates one of my CPU cores to screen draw. When I’m up at the wall, draggin...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3l2PIvHh8ek Aside from deepdivin' in sound programming and sampling, I like to try making some music from time to time. On this one I'm also singing, although I would of course ideally like to find a good vocalist. Perhaps I might do some backing voc's ;) I was inspi...

Re: 10.1.2d1 released
It could be your interface. Couple of times on here I’ve seen behringer and tascam users with crackling and popping. Soon as they go to a different interface it’s fine. Sadly all interfaces (or at the least, drivers) aren’t made equal. Found this out when I went from a £120 UR44 to a £699 Studio Ca...

That was odd and I couldn’t help but watch. Interesting use of the T2 footage, great work breaking the fourth wall while talking to yourself! I’ll keep an eye out for these in the future.

Re: Sampling the Samplers....
https://www.digitalsoundfactory.com has (& owns the licenses for) the original E-mu and Ensoniq libraries, by the way. I’m sure some of them are great, but I’d have to guess that many sound pretty dated and stale to modern ears. I’ve got an HDD in my e5000 jammed full of factory and expansion libra...

Re: Sampling the Samplers....
Just a few thoughts about your first point, effort and time: It took me about one month to rebuild a patch from a hardware Kawai K1. First made the mistake to sample every 3 notes from each patch (96 in total), resulting in a huge amount of gigabytes of samples/recordings. Not suitable for sound de...

Re: Rumble K1 Granular Synthesizer in the shop
GOOD FOR YOU!!! I’m happy for you that you’ve released your first product! I will most certainly try this one out, as I’m *ALWAYS* looking for new sounds to put into my hardware samplers! $79 seems like a fair price for something that seems deep enough to really never run out of fresh sounds. I’ll ...

I don’t get it Rob???? Did I somehow offend you? I thought we were having a conversation! Or if you want my experience, I rather changed to a more progressive style before I went on hiatus. It's rather suitable for genres like hip-hop, cause they tolerate it better if the content is a bit more mini...

So, is the consensus that the snare drum dominates the track too much? It’s MEANT to stand out, but not to take over the entire track.

Re: Hydlides rant about performance
In closing, I feel like people run into problems when using heavy REs or VSTs....is there perhaps flawed logic here? PH instruments have ALWAYS been super light on CPU in my personal experience. I can run about 100 instances of a supersaw patch I made in eXpanse that has 4 osc, each with 8 voice un...

one CC per EMI (I use 10-15/instrument, sometimes per channel on multi-timbral instruments!) There's only one physical CC knob on the EMI's faceplate, but I believe you can control as many CCs as you like from one EMI device, via sequencer automation: https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/408139...

Re: New to Reason, Some Obvious features for players and sequencer
Hello, I recently switched from hardware + Ableton to only Reason What made you ditch the hardware? I think that Reason is a truly IDEAL partner for hardware, as the cable-based routing allows for a lot of creative choices. While there are serious limitations (no NRPN, no SysEx, no PolyAT, one CC p...

Brainworx just launched a public beta for SSL 4000 E and G console emulations. Is this related to the Console E/G/N plugins? Hello everyone!!! I’m in the midst of a labor of love....sampling the “top 25” sounds from my favorite sampler, the Ensoniq EPS 16+. I’ve got some general thoughts as well as some questions for the community regarding the refill I’m trying to make. Here goes: 1: Size: I’ve got quite a few patches wh...

Re: Rumble K1 Granular Synthesizer in the shop
Hi, I just released my first Rack Extension, Rumble K1 and it is available in the Propellerhead Shop . Front.jpg What is Rumble? Rumble is an additive wavetable granular synthesizer. It is an emulation of an additive wavetable Kawai K1 digital synthesizer from 1985, but has granular synthesis added...

I think it would be called a bridge section. At any rate, just taking a brief musical visit somewhere else before returning home to the original theme. I am not yet a skilled producer and am trying to get more familiar with some of these arrangement concepts and terms. I did notice a subtle change ...

Re: ELECTRONIC: Deep Waters
Sounds good. It might not fit with what you were going for but perhaps a "B" section in the middle with a different chord progression would be a nice addition? Lift it into a different direction for a little while before returning to the original progression? Basically, write a middle bridge? And a...

Re: ELECTRONIC: Deep Waters
Yes, I was thinking about this. You say you welcome criticism so here goes. To me the snare sounds a little too big and takes up a lot of room, there seems to be a lot going on in the lower frequencies, I'm not sure if that could partly be my hi-fi, I have to tone down the bass on it usually - list...
