Re: Cv sequencing of non western tunings possible in reason ?
The MIDI Tuning Standard already exists since 1992 as an optional part of the MIDI specification. http://www.microtonal-synthesis.com/MIDItuning.html Oh i wasn't aware. Thank you ill read thru the link. Unfortunately it is only supported by a handful hardware synths and VSTs. Even MIDI MPE doesn't ...

Re: Cv sequencing of non western tunings possible in reason ?
Ok so i didn't read the comments, the need for microtonality is pretty subjective. Some may see it a frivolous, some may see it as a requirement. Regardless, microtonality should be a part of the new midi specification i believe. When instead of note, you send frequency(or detune factor) along with...

Re: about this forum and threads (speaking in generally)
I remember there was a platform owned by Propellerhead where peole could upload music directly from inside Reason. People could also download multitrack Reason songs and an ad own stuff. I think it was some kind of a collaboration platform. I uploaded some stuff and had a lot of fun on contributing ...

Re: Objekt has arrived!
Does anyone think Objekt could replace Algoritm? Or rather, are there sounds that Algoritm could do that Objekt can't? Of course, soundwise there's an overlap between Algoritm, Object, and also Parsec. But each synth has it's unique distinct sound characteristics. Beside this, the abilities to alte...

Re: Cv sequencing of non western tunings possible in reason ?
Malstrom too. Thor (and other devices with CV ins and mod matrix) can it through mod matrix. I love this particular method, because I don’t like it through the pitch bend because of the unwanted portamento. Good to know. On Thor ans also on Parsec (and on some other synths like Antidote) there's a ...

I can only speak for myself. I make and like ambient music, microtonal music, lo-fi and chiptune. So I don't listen to po. rock, techno and all that other genres.

Re: Cv sequencing of non western tunings possible in reason ?
Only the Viking REs by Blamsoft support non-quantized CV-pitch values. All other built-in synths and REs (taht I tested so far) do quantize the CV-pitch to western standard tuning. not quite so OSC Pitch socket (on all built-in devices) give access for non-quantized pitch. I only found OSC Pitch CV...

Re: To Screw or Not to Screw…
What specifically can you identify as contributing to Reason’s “fun factor” for you? On creating, there are the Players. Players are unique. I haven't found something similar in other DAWs. I also like Blocks for sketching songs. Timestretching audio and built-in pitch-edit are great fun. On mixing,...

Re: To Screw or Not to Screw…
IMO the Reason Rack is mostly about eye-candy (the same goes for VCV Rack). When I compare both to Ableton stock devices or Bitwig Grid, I really enjoy the look of Reason (and VCV) Rack. On the other hand, I feel that systems with non-skeuomorphic designs (like Ableton and Bitwig) are easier to unde...

Re: Cv sequencing of non western tunings possible in reason ?
Reason Studio is not the DAW of choice when it comes to microtonality. I would go for Bitwig Studio. If you like to mess around with CV-cables, go for VCV Rack. If you are working with VSTs only, go for MTS-ESP by OddSound.

The reverse button is automatable. It is named "Reverse". I tried it in Reason, Birwig and Ableton and automating the reverse button worked fine.

Re: Which DAW should I get to replace Reason? (Windows only)
For the skeuomorphists:
- If you like to have a dedicated mixer built in, so use Mixbus.
- If you like to mess up with cables, so use VCV Rack.

Re: Imagine a Tracker-Player
There is a tracker add-on for Reaper:

I tried it out but it feels wonky.
But it could be used as a blueprint for a tracker RE.
