I bought it almost immidiately and have found a place for it in my rack. It serves me very well as a last device, before a Limiter in a mastering chain. When my mix is colored and slightly distorted, I just boost the highs with it and it seems to soften up the sound of it. I don't believe in master...

It is an interesting idea and could potentially give you a fresh perspective. I think my days of collaboration are over though. I like to be in control.

You have a great objective perspective. I just think too much like a beatmaker I guess (formerly known as Ace back in my high school hip hop days).

I believe that’s because any guy with a laptop and a bunch of pirated VSTs can make (bad) music that’s (poorly) mixed, home mastered, and smashed to within an inch of its life. I won't even get it at this price. How you feel about RP being too fiddly is how I feel about Expanse. I'll take Blamsoft VK-2 over Expanse any day of the week. Different strokes for different folks.

Engineers say they do this, but I don't know how many describe the process in detail. Many great mix/masters have been done this way. Nothing wrong with mixing into master effects as long as you know what you're doing .This is a technique done by many different people!
