Re: The Internet Archive

But internet archive tragedy aside…the internet is already free to those who understand how to navigate it.
It’s almost perfect. If you have loads of money you can buy anything. If you don’t you can get loads of it for free.

Re: The Internet Archive

What a bunch of dreamers….
Myself included.
Internet is tech for a more advanced civilisation.

That said, why not limit copywrite to like 5years? For example.
Says the guy who’s music from five years ago is the only music money he makes!

I’m out of ideas

I suppose I’d buy grain if I had to. It’s got great stretch algorithms. Better if it had mimics advanced/preserve transients mode baked in.

Re: What would you get with your last reward points

I was really hoping I could make use of Object as an effect but it seems to be kind of 2D for me in that regard.
I’ve got 95 points but there’s never anything to use them on. For me.
Like a freaky sampler or fx engine.

Re: Terrible Computer and AI

Speaking of iTunes... When you make a plist, why the hell does it by default show all these stupid things like genre, number of plays, and the stupid 'love' heart icon. Why would I care how many times I've played it? I know what genre it is, and I know I like it because I put it there. Then I have t...

Re: What have you been listening to?

 Nice. I’ve seen that in Thailand. Karaoke nights from hell. Was renting a place where the neighbours kicked off. I got so fed up I went for a walk at like 4am down by the klong. Pretty sure that’s where and when I got malaria too. Malaria > Drunken Karaoke Party You made the right decision. 😂👍

Hotter n hell here in Andalucía.
This is the only thing for it. Like diving into cool clear water or drinking a freezing glass of beer.

Re: What have you been listening to?

Unfortunately, I've been forced to listen to this all evening. Neighbors decided to throw a party that blocks off the entire street with a stage/speakers pointed right at my house. Fun times! :( https://youtu.be/Cka3Jzyk8Oc Nice. I’ve seen that in Thailand. Karaoke nights from hell. Was renting a p...

Re: Overheating Mac advice

Well at the mo the cheap fix is still the two steel bars to lift it and a (sadly) noisy fan blowing at it. It works but I need to work w ear buds because the Senn HD25’s are too hot.

Re: Overheating Mac advice

Actually it’s more surprising how clean it is. It’s not bad but it’s been cleaned here n there during things like changing out ssd’s etc. and I look after it best I can. Keep the dust down around it. I’ve got it up on some metal bars again. See what we get. Got the fan queued up. I wish I could just...

Re: Overheating Mac advice

This isn’t like there’s a fault. When it’s cooler there’s no particular problem besides having an old comp. 2012 mbp. It’s getting on. It’s not 38c in my house but it’s still warmer than usual. But every little advance eats more cpu. Vsts, R12, etc. I’m sure if I could buy a new Mac it would fly alo...

Virgen piña coladas
No joke
But I’m making them w coconut/rice milk (like you put in coffee) and pineapple juice so it’s more refreshing and less sweet.
They’re great.

Re: Overheating Mac advice

Not a horrible idea. Need to think about how to find or make something that’s about the right dimensions. Like maybe freezer bags doubled up or something. Hmmm…. Thanks Selig Yeah the only time I spent doing a lot of video rendering on it was in the winter in Norway so over heating wasn’t really a p...

Overheating Mac advice

Does anyone have any experience cooling down MacBooks/Laptops? It's getting up to about 38c here in the sunny south of Spain and It's basically too hot to run Reason. Even relatively simple tracks have got the fans screaming. I actually need air con just to make music now. Great... So I've been thin...

Re: Reason 12.6.1 Offline Mode - Buzzkiller :(

Guess the good times where Reason started in 2 seconds is over 😥 Gone are the days when reason would close in 2 secs. And I’m not talking about saving work or anything. I mean shutting down comp and quitting reason w no projects open takes a while. I assume it’s my aging comp but 12 has always been...

Once put a Twin in a water closet (room with only a toilet for you non NYers), Twin is a type of guitar amplifier, fer christsake. Worst sound ever! And I've hosted some egregious guitar sounds... Check my CV They have water closets in the uk too. Think it’s just called a toilet. Never quite unders...

... Wait! Santa Claus is dead? :o No he’s fine. It was all just make believe anyway. Reason isn’t dead either. For what it’s worth the new off line mode in R12.6 is so much simpler than the last nightmare w the authorizor…which always sucked. W that cheap deal at JRR I reckon just upgrade and forge...

Thank you all for the kind words and support  (sidenote: we need a group-hug smilley :puf_bigsmile: ) I just got up from a night of little sleep and lots of contemplation. Huh. Maybe I should go break their balls about updating Trash to keep it going. First thing I thought when I saw that announcement was OMG OMG OMG MAYBE THEY'RE GOING TO SUPPORT TRASH2 I’m telling you. Everyone I know wants trash to continue. We should start a petition. Get it up on the interwebs

I’ll try posting on this thread so as not to make another w the same heading. I just updated to R12.6.1 and a funny thing happened. Oeksound plugs no longer show the VST2 version in the create drop-down. It will load vst 2 versions from previous songs and both the versions are enabled in settings. I...

Friend of mine is freaking out over the midi controller potential as this whole thing develops.
I can see his point but I'm unlikely to get my money's worth even with that.
