Re: Would you upgrade from 11...?
I haven't upgrade from 10 yet! Even though I would get a lot of value out of the rack VST and midi out. But I find I can make do with Rewire and exporting stems etc. I have been putting my money into Cubase instead. My two main bug bears are the lack of midi and the lo res graphics. I could probabl...

Don't complain about the interface, UNLESS you have actually worked on a 90's digital FX unit with a small LCD  Just reminded me that I had one of these once in time. Man, I love these old fx units. I used to have a tc electronics fireworks fx unit. I wish I still had it, it Was fun to use.

Re: Do you still buy REs?
In my magical fantasyland: That is a magical list, indeed! Maybe these ideas can help. I think stacking players is a good way to build your own custom player (and also heavy use of LoveOne's MIDI-CV Converter) I love players, too! -a player that lets me drag and drop a clip from sequencer into the ...

I love Player REs - wish there were more of them. What sort of players would you like? In my magical fantasyland: -a player that lets me drag and drop a clip from sequencer into the player, then play that clip using keyboard -same as beatmap, but for bass lines. Re: Which VST companies offer good value?
If you're looking for value, you could keep an eye on r/audioproductiondeals (reddit). The post sales every day. But if I had to recommend some bang-for-the-buck, I'd say: Plugin Alliance Brainworx - they usually have an 75% off sale for a single plugin every other day (usually $39 for a plugin that...

You could import you’re clip to DrRex, and then it’ll just keep playing from that device.

Re: I'm considering buying Kontakt 6 Full. Question for Reason Users
If you want vintage synths in a sampler, go UVI.
That’s a lesson I learned a few years back. Kontakt is great for huge sample libraries of realistic instruments. UVI wins if you love vintage synths.

 Cool to see it received so well and even cooler to see them talk about something Reason related for a pretty good chunk of time. Usually it goes something like this: "Hey did you guys see this? A new version of Reason...(30 seconds later)...what else should we talk about?" +1 Agreed, th...

Re: Korg Triton vst
My 2 cents: I'm very nostalgic for Korg M1. I've always loved the sound of pianos+pads together, and it just has a sound to it that reminds me my childhood. SO, Triton VST for me was very much "more of the same" - and given how it has that "M1-ish" sound, I was thrilled. Yes, it's pricy. But my jaw ...

Lots of good EQing suggestions above.
I’m in the same boat as you: no sub easily available to me. Besides a good EQ, you may want to look at tools that specifically help with bass area. I found BassRoom recently: it helps set a target eq curve especially for bass area.

Re: Poll for people with Reason as their only daw
I'll go back to Cubase if RS is no more, 100 years from now. Reason is my therapeutic Zen Garden. In the event of, you could try meditation. I mean if you're just looking for a portable zen garden. Cheaper. Maybe if that day comes, we can all get a group deal on portable zen gardens. Anyway, the po...

Poll for people with Reason as their only daw
This poll is only for folks that use only one daw, Reason.
I wanted to check whether folks that use reason as only daw would switch to reason rack if that were the ONLY option. I’m super curious whether folks who like the sequencer also think of reason as an “instrument”.

Cloned / Linked / Mimic'd Clips. +1 This is probably the top item that slows down my workflow: If I update one clip today (after making 20 copies), it's really hard to remember 5 minutes later which clip had the changes and which didn't. Or if I come back the next day, how do I even tell which of t...

Re: Waves Ovox (Vocal Synth)
Has anyone tried to see if OVox can really work for "performance recording"? I.e. were you able to get a bass track recorded using your voice? Or some other cool lead? The video makes it seem like its strength is how well it can use your voice to record stuff, with intonations, slides, etc. And thei...

Note: With latest version of reason, this Omnisphere bug is STILL happening. So annoying! I never heard back from Omnisphere support after they told me that the issue would be sent to the dev team to investigate. Re: Is Reason still planning to update its DAW?
I listened to first half of Ryan on the podcast, and here's my thoughts: Ryan definitely focus on the rack, as expected since that's what they're pushing now. However, when he talked about other DAWs that the Rack could be used in, he mentioned "Pro Tools". And made NO mention of Ableton, for exampl...

Nothing fancy. For me it's probably F5, F6, F7. Just switching between the different windows quickly. I can't stand having them all visable at the same time. Also P. Just mark the part/block you want looped and press P. It's so much faster than moving the left and right loop markers by hand. Yes, P...

Re: Best song starter template with your favourite plugins
To be honest, I like starting with a 100% clean song, no FX or instruments. BUT, I use *saved Combinators* for pretty much everything: If I want a synth with some effects I had patched together before, I have it saved in a Combinator I can pull up. If I had a great FX change, I save it in a Combinat...

I agree with folks on this thread that Reason has a special "vibe" to it. It's fun. It encourages me to try things from a different angle. Best example I can give: When my drums sound boring, and I feel uninspired, Reason gives me so many options to get out of the rut: 1) Chop and rearrange easily 2...

Re: Adjusting project tempo to midi recording not vice-versa
I tried Ryan’s tempo map technique on a wandering acoustic guitar track last night, and it’s pretty amazing way to “quantize a performance”. Does anyone know why it works though? I get why creating tempo map gets the rest of the song to speed up / slow down to match original performance. But why di...

Re: Adjusting project tempo to midi recording not vice-versa
https://youtu.be/at33phHJOcA that’s the video, I think. the relevant section starts at around 2:20. I don’t know if it works with MIDI, but if you bounce your MIDI clip to audio, then do your tempo mapping steps from the video, you should be good to go. once you finish the process, you should be ab...
