Re: Reason updates (11.3.7 / 11.3.8) and Reason+
There's one thing I didn't understand (and maybe it's somewhere in this 50 page thread but I couldn't find it sorry :)) The blog says that if you're on the subscription you get features FIRST. I totally get that you'll get new REs first. And sound packs first. But does it mean that in the future som...

Re: Reason stuff you've wondered why then suddenly realised the answer.
I didn't understand why "Bounce to REX" on an audio-clip was sometimes grayed-out, and other times available.
Eventually, understood that it's always available if you FIRST double-click on a clip to edit the transient-markers

Re: When is the 0.5 update?
I feel similar: there’s nothing I really need additionally in reason, but there are a few annoyances (track folders, linked clips)
Also, I want to be wowed once every two years please (eg vst, players, etc)
It’s sort of like marriage

Re: Stutter Edit 1 vs 2
FYI, I'd try the Stutter Edit 2 demo if you can (they have a 10 day free trial) I thought Stutter Edit is one of those VSTs that actually took a step back from v1. The new UX is confusing, and ugly, in my opinion. Probably because they moved to a flat aesthetic (V1 was skeuomorphic). A lot of people...

Bean,
I LOVE how the pattern can be “rotated” around the ring, to select a different start note. That’s a very intuitive way for me to think about it. Thank you

Re: Black Friday 2020 Deals Thread
I just discovered Gulffoss auto eq (im late to the party!). 35% off for Black Friday: https://www.soundtheory.com/home I can’t believe this thing exists. Run you’re favorite song through it, and listen for two minutes. Then disable gullfoss: it sounds like you put a blanket over the speaker! It’s th...

Re: The Latest Update of Omnisphere Does Not Fix the Reason Crashing Thing
Exciting news folks!! Omnisphere 2.6.4c seems to FIX the crash-on-delete bug in Reason! WOOHOOO!!!!! Here's a summary of the bug that is now fixed: 1) Insert Omnisphere 2) Open the GUI and select a sound 3) Close GUI 4) Delete the Omnisphere instance in the rack ---> This would lead to Reason giving...

Re: Phaseplant by kHs is out!
Check ot the wavetable editor/generator, and you are sold. If you want to upgrade, take the full road. You can have Snapheap and Multipass in the FX lanes. And you are right, its like Reason compressed in a good usable synth. You can do nearly everything of it within Reason, but without the fast wo...

Re: Phaseplant by kHs is out!
Wanted to share some thoughts on Phaseplant, so pulling up an older thread (hopefully that's better than creating a new thread :)) I agree with others on this thread: The *workflow* in Phaseplant is just BEAUTFUL. I'm very used to the semi-modulator "rack" in Reason, so I think Phaseplant just makes...

Re: Does the performance of reason benefit with audio interfaces with built in DSP?
UAD pros: The Dsp card lets you get some fancy plugins that can only be run on UAD. So if you want a Neve branded 1073, you need the UAD “dongle” Offloads some processing from your cpu. With modern processors, it’s helpful to some but not others Cons of UAD Expensive Other manufacturers make a Neve ...

Re: XO by XLN Audio
I like XO, but I've been using it less lately for 2 reasons: 1) If you have a lot of samples (20GB+), the XO window can hang for a couple seconds when you first load the plugin. This is not a blocker, but is annoying 2) I went back to using Umf RE more, because my samples are already organized into ...

Re: Back on Reason
I’m sure this isn’t a surprise but I have just bought reason 11. I first bought reason 20 years ago with the beautiful square boxed v1. Since then I moved around a bit to Ableton live from 1.5(I think it was) the moved to logic but I just had to get back and start with reason again. Since then I’m ...

Reason DAW needs to host VST3 plugins soon please
Hi, there are more VSTs that have been released as *VST3* only recently... 1) New Native Instruments Super 8 R2 2) Latest version of Melodyne dropped vst2 3) Even Roland Cloud is vst3 only on Windows now (TR-606 doesn't seem to have vst2 on windows) This seems to be accelerating in past few months. ...

Re: What features does Reason DAW have that others don't?
My favorite aspect/feature of reason is being able to do 99% of tasks without having to access menus or dialogue boxes When I used to use sonar, I was deep in menus daily. There was a customizable button-bar, but the default button-bar layout was overwhelming for me, so I never explored it The only ...

Re: 'SEQUENCES' by Robotic Bean...the sequencer I've always dreamed of.
Just wanted to give my praise to Sequences. Like m.arthur, I’m late to the game :) I didn’t realize you could record in real-time, I thought it was step record only. But tonight I turned the transport on and did real time recording. And once I had a pattern, I can transpose it via midi. Yayy!! This ...

I don’t see the appeal in recycle. Even within reason, it’s so easy to pull a loop into Octorex.
The only thing I miss from Recycle was the ability to control sensitivity level of detection

Re: Back with Reason 11
It's amazing how easily the song ideas flow when I use Reason. When I was using Cubase (or even S1 to a degree) the ideas didn't flow as easily. Now I know why I picked it up again, it inspires me, which is good!!! +1 When my bass line is boring, reason gives me so many ways to tweak it - it’s like...

After the steps folks recommended, you still need to change your fx to 100% wet (since it’s a send fx now), and engage the fx in the mixer

Re: Hardware Subtractor (Poll)
How about a physical rack that you could mount it in shaped like Combinator? Then I’d consider it But synths like Subtractor wouldn't work properly in a rackmount unless you were thinking of a surface type thing, not sure I'm following you correctly here? I was picturing it as a 4U (7") height synt...

I’m glad they made their various vsts available for purchase finally (D50, Juno, etc) But I can’t see myself getting into the zenology stuff.
