Wow, that's super cool of Red Rock Sound. Much appreciated.
This was my first time entering a song challenge but not the last, that's for sure. Love the idea of these song challenges.
Congrats everyone!

Re: (Electronic metal) Drones - Synthetic Flesh
Hey! I didn't know Electronic Metal was a thing, or did you just invent it? I always thought some dubstep tunes were like electronic heavy metal, but here you've made the real thing. Really cool style. And no RE's? I'm impressed. I especially like the really fast breaks with the blast beats. Some c...

Nice. Some parts reminds me of some of the early Prodigy stuff.

Re: (Electronic metal) Drones - Synthetic Flesh
This sounds really pro...very inspiring music. I used to listen to something similar many years ago: Fear Factory Thanks. I've listened to Fear Factory too in the past and I'm sure some of those influences has creeped in to this project. Maybe not so much with the electronic elements but more from ...

Snakebite, pitch bend wheel? (Problem solved)
At the bottom of the synth there's a bend knob. The manual says this: "Bend: Sets the range when using the pitch bend wheel. 100% is original V1.0 operation." But my question is, where is that pitch bend wheel they are talking about? On just about every synth it's up in the left corner. Am I missing...

(Electronic metal) Drones - Synthetic Flesh
This is from my instrumental electronic metal project Synthetic Flesh. When I made this I didn't own any rack extensions yet so this is all made with native devices from Reason 7.

Re: Blamsoft Zero Hybrid Synth Song Challenge | The Announcement
Here's my entry. This is my second track written for a song challenge. These competitions are great for trying out new synths. This one was a lot harder to figure out than Red70.

Re: Blamsoft Zero Hybrid Synth Song Challenge | The Announcement
Is it ok if I use another limiter outside of Reason for mastering? It's just to get the volume up without distorting the sound. Everything else is mixed in Reason. I don't have any decent mastering tools in Reason and I don't want to buy a new limiter just for a song challenge. I know it says "no e...

Re: Favorite distortion units?
Softube Saturation Knob. Love it, can't believe it's for free. It can be everything from very subtle to really distorted. I use it all the time on drums and bass sounds.
Scream is great for a lot of things, but it's very much on or off with that device. Saturation Knob doesn't have to be that obvious.

Re: Anyone using Snakebite
I use Snakebite from time to time but not so much for leads or pad sounds. I use it more for a distorted, gritty sound, mostly on bass or stuff that are meant to sound broken or screamy.
For big pads or fat leads I would say Antidote is better, at least if you want a cleaner sound.

Re: CV, I don't use it. Am I missing out?
I really don't understand people who say other DAW's are more open than Reason. Reason has CV, how much more open do you want? There's endless possibilities. True that Reason can do some unique things, but I was thinking about the obvious stuff, all the vsts that are out there that we can't use. I ...

Re: CV, I don't use it. Am I missing out?
just a general response: I dont understand the appeal of reason if not for CV. Basically Reason looks and feels like fun. That's it. I can't say I feel the same way about other DAWs. They might be "better" and more open but I just don't feel as inspired and creative in other programs. Might be a du...

Re: CV, I don't use it. Am I missing out?
I just bought Pulsar. After looking through some videos of CV type devices I thought it looked pretty straightforward and easy to use. I do have Little LFO but Pulsar for some reason just looked more intuitive to me. And also it was on sale for 15 euro instead of 49, so if I don't end up using it ve...

Re: CV, I don't use it. Am I missing out?
Thanks for all your answers. Looks like I'm gonna have to check this CV thing out. I'll start slow so my brain doesn't freak out :) Sometimes I feel it's a bit ironic that I've chosen Reason as my DAW as I don't enjoy the wiring and the techincal opportunities it offers. But what I do like about Rea...

CV, I don't use it. Am I missing out?
I'm not a technical guy at all and the wiring in the back of the rack gets me confused pretty quickly. The whole CV thing looks like a new little world in Reason that I haven't dared to explore yet. I understand if fiddling around with technical stuff is interesting and fun to some people. I'm not o...

Wecome. There's another challenge presently running on the 'Zero' synth. Check it out ! http://www.reasontalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=7491125 As for how many songs per challenge, I was of the impression that there's no limit, but I'm sure Noel will clarify when he sees your post, Thanks. Re: Red Rock Sound's Red70 Song Challenge | The Announcement
Hi everybody. This is my first post here on Reasontalk and also my first time trying out one of these synth song challenges. I have a feeling it won't be my last time entering these competitions, cause it looks really fun. And what I great way to try out new REs. Just a question, are you allowed to ...
