Hey buddy, nice to see that you're still around. That wasn't a chicken-and-egg problem?
Chicken-and-egg went to the void when I discovered evolution.

Re: Hello???

I am still morbidly curious as to who "ducky" is ... I have my suspicion of who it could be but maybe he's doing something better with his life instead of being quacked out in his room. http://assets.nydailynews.com/polopoly_fs/1.2780390.1473190879!/img/httpImage/image.jpg_gen/derivatives/article_7...

Re: Hello???

A birth, a wedding, a new job, graduation, winning a competition, these are examples things that get congratulated. Anyone can buy some junk. I feel more awkward congratulating births and marriages. Anybody can have sex and reproduce. I'm sure plenty of folks have a baby unintentionally and even ir...

Re: Hello???

It's rather like saying "Hey, look, i'm so important, and ya'll treated me so bad, that i'm taking a stance here, and show ya'll how miserable i've been treated, and how important i am to this forum.". At least in most cases. Y'all should have a little more faith in your fellow Reasoners! :D I thin...

Why wouldn't you say congrats to a new car owner? Wow - what's with people these days huh?

You're a cool guy. Try not to analyze yourself or else you're gonna end up like me. Make some music! :)

Do it at home. You just need a bar, a floor, and a chair. Only attention whores need gyms.
Yes I agree. Internal motivation would certainly deliver better results than being affected by superficial external factors. We can make this comparison with people stuck in prison vs gym bro culture.

Re: Be honest, do you use presets often?

I use presets a lot. Mostly because I like to work top-down; presets allows me to make a quicker draft while I'm in that zone before the creativity window closes I often have the intention to refine the song by replacing the presets with own patches or tweaked versions of the preset. And I also oft...

Re: wizardry and witchcraft thread

Going on a witch hunt could be fun but I'd rather think about the mathematical side of things as that is where the "magic" happens for me. Logarithmic patterning can add some interest to a composition. Counting intervals from a cantus firmus is technically how to write a counterpoint melody. Polyrhy...

Re: Be honest, do you use presets often?

I'm a proud preset user and I pretty much never design my own sounds from scratch. I tweak the envelopes and filters of presets to meet my taste though if that counts for anything. Sound design to me is incredibly boring and I find the preset snobbery that some people have to be pretty amusing. This...

Re: So what's holding us back musically?

Lack of focus holds me back. I'm starting to think I have adult attention deficit disorder. I have certain goals with music, a good idea of what my stylistic sound should be, a list of labels here on my desktop that I aim to submit to and plenty of time to invest. My problem is that I get distracted...
