Re: Cyclorama wall accoustics
Hi Gyles, thanks for the input. I've been asked to look at improving the acoustics of the whole media area, the walls are paper thin, I really don't know how they got away with recording anything for so long. I would like to keep an eye on the acoustics of the room, make them no worse at least but p...

Cyclorama wall accoustics
I'm looking into ways i can improve our media suite and I was just wondering if anyone had any experience in working with sound in a cyclorama studio.
How are the accoustics? Does it make reflection harder the manage? Do the curved corners help with sound diffusion or just make it more complicated?

I have Reason Drum Kit from when it was combinators and it does seem a lot more flexible once you get under the hood.

Re: "Reason just recovered from a hardware exception"
I just encountered something similar. When I open a project file it says there's a hardware exception error and then it notifies me that Europa has been disabled. I presume you're aware of the bug in the latest update!? The bug makes Reason 12.5.2 crash if you try to automate any Master Section par...

How hard could this be? - Lyrics Edit and Display
I would Really Really Really like a Rack Extension that would display lyrics and highlight them as the track plays as a Karaoke machine does. As a bonus and to add value to the produce, I'd like the melody be visible as a midi roll in the same display window. To top it off I'd like a pitch monitor f...

Re: Reason 12 upgrade from 8.0
I can answer the first part of your question. Yes, if you have a legacy licence you shouldn't have an issue upgrading it to the latest one. Just check it's all registered on the reasonstudios website and you have the username and password. You can run any version of reason you own on any computer yo...

Re: Problem in Increasing the tempo of a vocal
Also worth noting, seen as you're on this route, it's worth making sure your audio type is set to vocal rather than all round or melody. When you come to use the 'bounce audio to midi' it'll do a reasonably good job of pitch detection too, skipping this means you'll probably only get the transient m...

Re: Which Monitors Should I Go For?
.... Far, far more detailed than the Fostex PM monitors ... I have some Fostex PM 0.5's. I've got a set of MK1's but one of them needs fixing so I replaced them with a set of MK2's cos it died during the covid lockdown. I really like them but as they're discontinued I can't find a sub for them for ...

Re: tiredness after composing
Not to hijack the thread but I usually have to work on a laptop, often at different locations, and I’d really appreciate any pointers on laptop working, posture, what have you. As it is I try breaking sessions up, pacing a bit, not hunching over the thing…but never the less I suffer during long pro...

Re: tiredness after composing
Regardless of your equipment you should always plan breaks. The Pomodoro Technique is quite popular. The common way to do this is have a 25 minute break timer and a 30 minute work timer, that gives you 5 minutes break every half hour. In this time it's important to discipline yourself to do somethin...

Re: Using headphones with a built in mic within Reason
As far as I know it's nothing to do with windows settings but if you hit the control panel button in reason you should load up the ASIO interface and be able to mess with the settings in there. It's a little hazy to me because it didn't take me long to decide to invest in an external audio interface.

Re: RRP 11 vs 12
I agree with deeplink. If you are the sort of person to get your hands dirty creating instruments then the new combinator has some huge potential. It really does depend how you use reason as a tool. I use 11 at work and 12 at home. 11 is very capable and suits my needs for getting the job done but 1...

you save a file with q-record enabled then set it as your template file.
not really sure why this would be a special case.
