Re: Impulse response loader Rack Extension

I don't like RV7000 for IR, done some tests and it seems that it has low resolution in applying a frequency response. Is there any good RE (with no, or very low latency) that can load IR? This is the best for frequency response IRs: http://www.kvraudio.com/product/nadir-by-ignite-amps It has length...

Anyone suggest a compressor for percussions ? To make it sound tight .
What you need is an Transient Shaper

And Kong has a Transient Shaper module which is super useful as well.

Noise floor? I am getting no noise from the RE3Q.
Turn up rock band to 40 and slowly increase rock gain and you will start to hear noise.
thanks. never noticed it :)

very subjective. I guess this guy is EQing his room acoustics :D didn't agree on his boxyness comments. sound warm and great imo. no need to kill such a lot of warm low end.

I wish the RE3Q didn't emulate the noise floor of the original device. (Red Rock Sound, add a switch to turn it on/off in a update! ) :)

Yes SM57 is noisy, not hum shielding stuff. Found out that Tape Op concluded the same thing (https://tapeop.com/reviews/gear/85/cloudlifter-cl-1-mic-activator/): So I guess on different mic the Cloudlifter might be cool. Didn't try my Electro Voice RE50 though since I only use that mobile. And the ...

Re: Do you read the ReasonTalk articles?

It's always hard to be both things, a blog and a forum.

What I in general would love to see is more objective thinking. There's a tendency to see developers as Gods. Having a hard time making money.

We all struggle, which is the most interesting part. Show it out in the open.

Re: Parallel Compression – what’s really going on?

This difference imo are dynamics. With a compressor using a sine wave you can match volume compression. But on dynamic material you get totally different results when blending the original channel with the compressed signal. I didn’t use a sine wave, I used dynamic material. BTW, this was a proof o...

The Anvil 3.0 Amp Sim

anvil.jpg The Anvil by Ignite Amps is now available as 3.0 update. It is superb. I love the Ignite Amps stuff, it's free, but it kills all other amp sims imo. The Anvil can be used best with the TPA-1 power amp simulator in combination with an IR device like the Ignite Amps Nadir. The Anvil is now ...

Very cool find! The Kilohearts compressor is maybe the best RMS compressor I know. I am getting even more "natural" sounding results than the RE-160. The RE-160 is a bit tricky, you need to be careful with the parameters. Might buy the The Kilohearts VST version! Thanks for the tip :) [/color] Glad...

yes but causes glitches on low latency.

Re: How to run loads more VSTs without buying a new CPU

a very simple and cheap trick: make your decisions earlier.

in stead of running effects live, add them to a track and convert to audio.

The Beatles used to work like that. Bowie too. recorded with effects. Heroes with that Flanger on the bass. not being afraid. decide now! :D
