Re: I want to burn every gym to the ground

The OP's suggestion is a bit revolutionary. As in everything, I think 'balance' is best. I understand that not everyone is able to walk around at work, spurn the elevator, spend half their lunch break taking some unassisted exercise, etc., but I think many people don't do it even if they could, beca...

Re: These "Autumn" Years ...

I beat you by 2 years Jon; I was 62 at the end of last month. I came relatively late to reason, but I immediately liked working with the software. Now that VSTi's are a thing, I've no reason to go elsewhere. It's true; the older we get the more the medicine cabinet bulges. Pills and potions FTW! Tha...

Re: Be honest, do you use presets often?

I use presets, almost exclusively. Occasionally I tweak them just a bit (usually removing reverb or adjusting cutoff/resonance a tad). For me, it's a trade off between producing acceptable finished work in a timely manner and spending day after day trying to create usable sounds. I choose the former...

Re: Allihoopa or Soundcloud or Both?

I thought soundcloud was supposed to be going out of business? People have been saying that for quite a while. SoundCloud had to up its game in the face of increasing competition, and in deference to the saying 'If it ain't broke, improve it until it is'. Not quite there yet. I pay for Pro Unlimite...

Re: I need mixing help

Hi aeox, I'm a composer of cinematic/classical-type stuff, and I wholly sympathise with you. Back in the day, we could do our work (which we'd spent our lives training for) then hand it over to a different pro for mixing, editing, production (done by people who'd spent their lives training for that....

Re: Your Go-To Soft Synth

It's a bit difficult, because like most of you, I need different synths for different tasks. That means I have my go-to bass synth, my go-to lead/pad/poly/texture synth; you get the picture. I do cinematic/underscore/classical stuff, so I use presets an awful lot. I guess for that reason, and for sh...

Re: Reason scans my 100s of VSTs each time it opens and takes forever

Sonar does the same; I don't know about other DAWs, but I should imagine they perform an initial scan for new VST/VSTi files too? I guess the more you have and/or the more locations you use, the longer the scan takes. Perhaps if you're only opening a .reason file to work on a song, it should just lo...

Re: A list of broken VSTs (Vst2.4 and/or aax)

right now my issues are: any cakewalk plugin (only really need z3ta+2, but it happens with all of them) will load, and make sound, but does not load the GUI, so are basically non useful Hi Shawn. In the Beta Test Forum you'll see some references to this. z3ta_2_64 works absolutely fine for me in Re...

Re: Anyone else being selective in what VSTs they add to Reason?

I also was using Reason + Sonar for the past 5+ years. I was using Reason because I love the workflow. I was using Sonar to host my VSTs. But now that Reason supports VST, I have zero use for Sonar going forward, so I've uninstalled it. But it sounds like you still have a use/need for Sonar, so you...
