A very lame decision tbh. It's not a decision at all. When they started developing Reason (and into the first few major updates), external hard disks were not a common thing yet. Making those directories a setting in an installer was not logical at that time. Agreed. And I would guess this problem ...

Every other company lets you store your vsts and libraries off your main disk...... but not reason. Just another reason reason is just falling behind everyone

I was on the trial and downloaded a few packs, then switched back to the perpetual license. Now I no longer have access to the couple of packs I downloaded. They are still on my SSD, but Reason no longer sees them. Is this intended behavior or am I missing something?

Also, unlike every other VST in the world, you can't move large libraries to an external drive. I have like 30 gigs of REs and there is no way on a Mac to move them to an external disk without the authorizer throwing a fit.

I wonder if they can work this into their "roadmap"
