How to clear unused data

When recording my band live I might end up with a multi-track recording that has 10 songs and is an hour long. I tried cutting them up to individual songs but when save them the individual songs still have the same huge amount of data as the single long track. I have tried “save & optimize” and “del...

Just checking … But aren’t you automatically running the RV7000 in parallel mode any time you have assigned a wet/dry mix?

Re: How do you get rid of Usb noise??

The problem with “signal ground” (which is of course necessary to complete a circuit so that current can flow) should theoretically have zero voltage. The problem with respect to noise generation is that when you have multiples of them they have different small voltages on them. Having a true “earth...

Remember, when everything is running off of batteries you have no ground connection.

Same thing when running with wall warts.

Fix bad bass tone from old multi-track tape

I have some old bass tracks recorded on tape that I need to add articulation to. The playing was great but the tone is mushy. The bass is alone on its own track and I’m looking for something to run it through to give it some articulation.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Re: How to find a phase problem ? if so !

It is important tor remember that polarity and phase are two different things. Any time you mix two sound sources (unless they are identical) there will always be some phase cancellation and some addition. Assuming the same level for both signals, addition can only double the level but cancellation ...

And after you get your monitors perfectly flat, the only time anyone else listening to your mix will hear what you heard is when they sit in your room in your mixing position. ;)

convert audio to MIDI

I found a couple of videos that suggest you can convert an audio track to MIDI by just dragging it into a MIDI track.. Doesn't work at all for me. Does this work for anyone else? what am I missing?

Re: Question about the "cut don't boost EQ" idea

I think part of your mystery is understanding the difference between “electrical boost and cut” vs “acoustical boost and cut”. Electrical is pretty straight forward. You can simply do either, provided you don’t run out of headroom. But an electrical boost may not result in and acoustical boost. Cuts...

But REs and VSTs are not equivalent.

VSTs are lighter on CPU (hard to believe, but true)
Yes, It's hard to believe. Can you cite some data that backs that up?
