Hi guys, So here's my latest track. I made all of these sounds except the video game synth which is a preset. Been working on my music making process. I make a separate project file for sound design/ drumkit creation, composition/arrangement, mixing and mastering. I tried to make the drums punchier....

I like the retro vibes in this track.

EDM is shifting toward deeper, more soulful house, so you're in the right track. I would work the mix a bit more so the vocal stands out.

I've found the vocoder has a bitcrusher function. Set to EQ, set bands to 4-8. Scream has a surprisingly useful digital distorsion mode as well. You can also separate 3 different bands using Spiders and the EQ faders in it for multiband processing.

I use each device's volume knob and the one in the mix channel. Except I usually need to turn them down. You mentioned the mixer channel gain knob changed dynamics. Maybe that is the glue compressor that is set to on.

I see you went for dynamic range rather than loudness. This is some good shit. That organ around 3:30 may take a little too much headroom in the mix at least in my speakers. But that is me nitpicking. Very well done.

Oh wow, that tempo change at the beginning is a nice touch. I think the synths have a little too much edge that could have belonged to the drums. Nice work though.

Solid job. Maybe experiment with ways to give your next track more space and width.

Great job. I would make the beat a little more in your face. Also perhaps make the different riffs flow a little more with transitions that are less abrupt.

I do, BUT they almost never fit what I want without even a slight change - so I substitute the preset with my modified version for future uses.
