Re: "Ernst explains VST decision" Props blogpost

The VST-Skeptics shouldn't be all too harsh with Ernst & Co. When this decision guarantees, that my beloved Reason and the about 60 Re's & Refills I purchased will survive the next decades, I am totally fine with that decision.

Re: Do you listen to your own music?

That is a very interesting question, as are the differing answers given by the participants of this thread. My answer is this: I listen to my music, and I'm always amazed. I am amazed, because many times I wonder: "I did this? When did I do it? And what the hell have I thought doing it?" The relatio...

Re: Reveal Sound ReSpire in the shop x $59 !!

So I'm probably gonna get tons of crap for this and that's ok. This is all highly subjective anyway. I've tried this synth a couple of times now, playing around with the presets and checking out the filter section, unison stuff and so on. By the way I've looked passed all the bugs and problems with...

Re: Robotic Bean presents Resonans, Reason`s first physical modelling synthesizer!

Interesting demos... Might be a tad unfortunate in regards to timing this release... Just before May Madness and at the same day Spire dropped at a super discounted $ 59... Anyway, here's the link to the shop: https://shop.propellerheads.se/product/resonans-physical-synthesizer/ I don't know about ...

Re: Reveal Sound ReSpire in the shop x $59 !!

Before - from reading my previous post - someone gets the impression, that I'm a bit naive: There's no doubt, that Reveal Sound put ReSpire out too soon. But I assume, they were under great pressure: Having worked on ReSpire possibly more than a year, they - although they might have known, that this...

Re: Reveal Sound ReSpire in the shop x $59 !!

Hi there... I purchased ReSpire today. I noticed some of the already reported bugs too. But much more than that I noticed how much I got inspired by ReSpires presets. Some of them are truly majestic, nothing less! I have no doubt: After the dust has settled and the major bugs are fixed, Reveal Sound...

Re: One synth EP Challenge (No competition or prizes - just for fun)

Well here's my Chip64 EP. It might become the shortest EP in this thread as it clocks in at only 7:25. I did write two other tracks but I decided not to include them as I felt these four tracks were stronger. Maybe not the most creative song names but whatever, I ain't got time for that. I've got t...

Re: One synth EP Challenge (No competition or prizes - just for fun)

Working on my Chip64 EP right now and man does Chip64 have a lot of bugs. It has to be the buggiest synth in Reason. Pitch gets out of tune, plays one note even though poly count is set to 8. Well at least it hasn't crashed yet as it did a couple of times when I first bought it. I don't usually get...

Re: One synth EP Challenge (No competition or prizes - just for fun)

Here is a late 4th track to complete my Nostromo EP. I have made a ton of improvements to my music game over the last few weeks and this song perfectly represents that. https://soundcloud.com/teflontomb/lecricutio Holy #, Dude, that is a fine piece of music, I really like it. I don't really want to...

Re: One synth EP Challenge (No competition or prizes - just for fun)

I´m a big fan of 8 bit sound chip music so I´ll join the challenge with an EP featuring remakes/covers of 3 Atari ST YM2149 classic tunes by Mad Max (Jochen Hippel), all synthesized with Synapse´s Antidote. I´ll keep the notes and original arrangements but make it sound more hifi (FX, stereo field ...

Re: One synth EP Challenge (No competition or prizes - just for fun)

Thanks for the kind words. I really haven't done much except making a thread with some simple set of rules. But I can see how a ”challenge” and some limitations might be inspiring to create music. I basically came up with this EP challenge for myself. Then I thought why not see if other people are ...

Congrats on your EP :) Finishing an EP definitely makes you improve as a musician/artist. And you did it in time too. Good job. I listened through it quickly. Sounded cool to me. I'll get back with a couple of comments in a day or two when I have more time. Thanks Tritone! :) I wasn't sure, if I wo...

Re: One synth EP Challenge (No competition or prizes - just for fun)

Holy shit, I did it. I made that E.P. Thought I'd go insane in the process; more than once I cursed myself for having set such a close deadline. But I did it. For sure, this thing is far from being perfect. I learned a lot, and especially I learned how much I still suck in many aspects of music prod...

That, good Sir, is priceless! Because isn't it that, what makes being a musician or even just a listener really great? Getting lost in sound, and forgetting to give a shit about all else.

Re: CV - Do you use it? I don't.

I'm sure I'll get into the CV thing at some point. But right now every time I've watched a video of anything CV related I just want go and do the opposite, just grab a synth and start playing melodies or try to come up with something with my voice, basically keep it as simple as possible. But ain't...

Re: CV - Do you use it? I don't.

Well I finally realised the CV stuff just isn't for me. I mean I've used it in a couple of songs for some basic vibrato effects, but that's it. Other than that it just doesn't fit my workflow and I find it highly unintuitive when actually trying to write music. Everytime I try to get into it or wat...

Re: Lectric Panda Generates PX7 & MonoPoly [Free Refills]

Ah, great, the Monopoly!! It will be exciting to see, what it has to offer, because the few original presets gave the impression, that it's capable of many cool things, especially arp-wise! And the PX7 - I always thought about that guy as a "sleeping giant". I mean, with the 200,000 Patches it was c...

It seems to be a refill, I found it on a russian social-media-site, there was the entry: 3rd Project ReFill 0401 -Roland M-DC1 Rhythm & Loops-.rfl 18.1 Mb But it was no longer available, seems it was an illegal upload. Amazing :D You might be pissing off some sounddesigners/refill sellers though ;) Some of the patches here sound more refreshing than anything I've ever heard from a human sounddesigner. Probably because humans discard a lot of options because they don't feel right or safe, resulting in a lot of mis...
