Re: Combinator 2 question or Combinator 3 possibility
This is kind of what I’m trying to do now. I’m looking at having 3 layers of synth using 3 instances of abl3 and I wanted all 3 to have a default state. I’m now looking at having an A/B switch next to each ABL they will all be hooked up to a separate VOLT SET A = Default SET B = (knobs mapped to the...

Re: Combinator 2 question or Combinator 3 possibility
Yes the VOLT SL1 is kind of working for me now but I haven’t finished it yet, so I may hit a brick wall.
I still think it would be a nice edition to the Combinator interface though - so come on RS you know it makes sense

Re: Combinator 2 question or Combinator 3 possibility
Nothing wrong with Volt SL-1 apart from 'me' forgetting it existed
Thanks xbitz. I'll look into incorporating this one.

Combinator 2 question or Combinator 3 possibility
I’ve created a combinator that I want to use as a live performance tool (lots of filters and pattern switching). Just thinking out of the box now but is there a way of snapping the dials/faders and buttons back to a default setting during a live jam? If not I think it would be a massive plus for a c...

Re: Speo's Map64 is amazing.
Trialing this out at the moment but just can't seem to get anything good out of it after following that video. It feels like the vid could have been shorter or broken down into 2 or 3 sections with less emphasis on setting up the sounds within the synths and more of a clear explanation of how the CV...

Guess I was expecting it to just react to the playhead position, I totally forgot about disable stretch.
Cheers for that.

Tempo/spoken word (question)
Probably a simple fix but I've never had to do this before - I have a track I’m working on and in a section of the song I gradually slow down the tempo using a sequencer lane and then take it back up to speed again. I now want to layer some spoken word in this section without it being effected/slowe...

Re: PSQ-1684 v3.1.0 is in the shop! [Updates]
Someone dedicated the PSQ in this track https://moatun7.bandcamp.com/track/psq-1684-alien :) Hehe yes, I made that album :) Three tracks on it are sequenced only on PSQ -- and that's why one track gets it's name from :D Just had a listen, some really nice IDM going on there. ;) Móatún 7 is a nice l...

Re: What makes Reason a great “song finisher”?
For anyone who might want some inspiration on finishing tracks in Reason. I would like to recommend watching some of the Adam Fielding Twitter streams he did over the covid period. I personally found these an eye opener as to how quickly a decent sounding track can be laid down from start to finish....

The free version obviously. The free version can do alot especially if you're just working with MP3 and WAV files.

Re: MP3 size reduction (Question)
Thanks for the suggestion, itunes is a bit to faffy for what I’m looking for. A drag and drop system would be perfect and yes it could be done from a wav file instead. I basically want to output a more or less finished arrangement. To drop into a Tello card as an MP3 but it must be below 10meg. as t...

MP3 size reduction (Question)
Can anyone recommend a drag and drop MP3 file size reducer for the Mac. (Preferably for free)
I might be wrong but Reason 12 doesn’t seem to have an option to alter the output settings for MP3s.
cheers anyone.

Just another thought, stacking 2 off these players is another option to mix note lengths.

Re: Life Generative Sequencer by Retouch Control
Does the device produce varying note lenghts within a pattern? Because most generative devices tend to sequence the same 1/16th or whatever note length and that most often results in fiddledidlle patterns. Evolution however produces patterns that are much more viariable and with some luck you can g...

Right, I’m sure it’s good. Retouch Control are great. I’ve got all but 2 of their devices. I just don’t get what’s so good about this one. To me It sounds like Evolution or any number of other generative plugins. Can someone please tell me what’s brilliant about this one. I’m sure I’m missing somet...

Re: Life Generative Sequencer by Retouch Control
Just working my way through the manual. Now I've got the edit short keys remembered 'Shift' 'Alt' and 'Cmd' the experimental side of this device is opening up more. Starting to get something that sounds half decent and some happy accidents also happening when using the X Y Z knobs too. It's worth ge...

A new player by Retouch Control - looks interesting, I might have to give this one a spin. • Drum Sequencer, Melodic Sequencer and Arpeggiator • Generative Engine based on Conway's Game of Life • Extensive Pattern Library in the Factory Soundbank https://www.reasonstudios.com/shop/rack-extension/lif...

Re: [Electronic/Minimal/Ambient] Descending
Like this - It grooves along nicely locked into it's own techno style, without feeling the need to stray to far from its root. Although it's minimal I could see it playing a key part in the direction of a DJ set.
