Sounds a bit like Momus, and coming from me, that's high praise indeed. My main critique is that the soundscape is a bit messy and could do with less reverb overall (and I really don't like the drums at all), but underneath all that, I think there's a really good song there, with a good lyric.

Remix competition, and I thought I'd go a different way with it, so I went full-on prog with two Mellotrons, 7/8 for most of it and a middle part in 5/8.

I'm sorry, but I just have to ask: in which way is this (or the original) prog rock? I actually like the approach of this cover version, although I kind of think it could comfortably be made even harsher. That said, a prog cover of In The Air Tonight could be awesome.

I seriously doubt I stand a chance, having listened to some truly excellent entries above. And because of the style of my piece; but you have to go where the muse takes you, and this time it was synthwave.
