Re: Spam from PH
Notice that of all these emails about the same product (R10), only a pair has duplicate content. I can accept the initial notification, and maybe the last one when the sale is about to end; but 8 promotion emails within 1 months for 1 product is just incomprehensible and unacceptable for me. Of all ...

Re: Spam from PH
Well again, I'm sorry for the spam flood and we'll need to look at our routines for how we send stuff out before the next round of emails. In the meantime, take care, buy loads of stuff from the sale (HEY! Up to 70% off on 200+ products until Jan 31st). And man, I must be such a smart marketer to d...

Re: Viking 2 vs Legend ( analog synths )
Vote for the Legend.
VK2 is more creative, but doesn't have the immediacy. And it's hunger for resource is a show stopper in many cases.
Also you get the VST license as well if you go Legend.

Second this.
There are many other dynamics riding plugins, but this one is extremely easy to tune.

Re: Reason 10 announced!
After reading Mattias's response I'm seriously in doubt of PH's future VST was something they had the codebase for long, but they didn't want to release it; but seems like they had to ASAP as 9.5 prematurely to answer to their investors call. And then the Layers RE. And now this RE pack, which they ...

Re: "Ernst explains VST decision" Props blogpost
What makes me anxious is that it's pretty clear that they don't have the resources to keep Reason up with it's competitors - the Sequencer, editing etc. + the default Instruments and Effects. And still, I was convinced they have some sort of vision to keep it unique - CV's and all. But this explanat...

Re: I hate how much I'm loving it
Yep, for the same reason - if I don't require any extensive CV patching,
would definitely use VST over REs, assuming that the VST wrapper isn't going to cause much overhead.
Would save me some CPU cycles.

On top of everything, I'm glad to know that you're fine - was wondering what happened, after the website went down and all.
Best wishes, and hope to see ya around, maybe a new RE or VST

Re: Does anyone else think it is a mistake to allow Reason Essentials to support VST?
Agreed.
I assume that in R10 Full they'd
decrease the price OR add more exclusive features / native devices
But either way, I doubt it'd have impact towards the current Reason user base.
Me thinks this is a conscious choice to hack in to the market.

Before any speculations of doom, see this from the Propellerhead site Now that Reason has VST support, will you kill the Rack Extension technology? Absolutely not! Reason now supports two plugin formats and Rack Extensions will remain a key Reason technology. In fact, combining VSTs and Rack Extens...

Re: VST in reason, effects on the rack extension market?
Would always purchase a VST license over RE, if it were cross platform.
RE has a much lower value as asset, due to inability for license transfer etc.
I think RE will still live on as a CV utility centric platform. But definitely, a massive setback in general.

I will add though Im really looking forward to developers to start using rack extensions to do hardware emulation refills as opposed to stock stuff. I cant think of a single product like this yet on the Refill market. Interesting thought. Wouldn't cover the character of the DA converter etc. but st...

Well, we'll all still have to live with fear of the impending doom a.k.a. Rigs 3 BundleAshpool wrote:And I would prefer that the developers just do a proper pricing and do no sales at all. Because it is a bad feeling when you purchased a product just to see it on massive sale one week later.

I'd love to see some new stuff from them...
