Creating custom control lane
DISREGARD PLEASE! I think I found the solution myself, but have not yet true it. Think I can do it with a MIDI OUT device. Found it in (of all places) the user manual! I want to create a "custom" 0-127 control lane to send cc info to my vst plugin. I'll drag it adjacent to the note lane (like level ...

Re: Poly Step variation not advancing
Thanks. I think I found a solution. While not running a patch, if you select each pattern, then select the first variation you want to run in each of the patterns, it seems to work. At least it did for me.

Re: Poly Step variation not advancing
Yeah, kinda makes it. not very useful. Think I'll send a report to Reason support. Thanks for checking it out!

Poly Step variation not advancing
Using poly step 2 patterns each with 4 variations (16 steps @ 1/16). Variation advance set to "Next". Pattern 1 plays through to variation 4 just fine. But, when Pattern advances to Pattern 2, the variation stays on 4, and it plays variation 4 of Pattern 2 first. Suggestions on what I'm doing wrong ...

Re: RRP VST3 ....Interesting!
While I was letting off some steam, Reason is still behind most DAW mfgrs in terms of vst3 support. That being said, I did manage to get Element figured out and am able to run the Surge vst in Reason. Now, if the new VCV Rack 2 comes out with a vst3 plug-in, I can run it as well. I appreciate the co...

Re: RRP VST3 ....Interesting!
I have many (too many according to my wife) great vst2 guitar, synth and effects plugins. What I now want is to add the free, open-source Surge 1.9 synth. Unfortunately, it's only available as vst3. So, I'm screwed until Reason Studios catches up with the industry. My 14 year old grandson has Ablet...

Re: RRP VST3 ....Interesting!
It's not really that difficult to understand, by the time Reason hall implemented vst support the 2.4 standard had been replaced and by the time RRP was born the 2.4 licensing had been completely pulled with no more uid being issued to developers for use in the SDK. My point exactly! There are many...

RRP VST3 ....Interesting!
I find it interesting that Reason does not YET support vst3 plugins, yet does not offer to provide their RRP in vst2 format...only vst3. Maybe time to go with a modern DAW and use the RRP.
Been a Reason user since version 2, getting more and more disappointed.

Re: FAQ: VST in Reason
Are you saying that many vst plugins are now VST3 only? That's news to me. They all seem to come with both VST2 and 3 or just with 2. New developers are not allowed to release VST2 plug-ins, only VST3. The only ones allowed to release VST2 plug-ins are developers who have released one previously. M...

Re: FAQ: VST in Reason
I see more and more great vst plug ins that I would like to use. Many are not supporting vst2. So, here I am, stuck in Reason, and I've not seen anything to indicate that vst3 support is on the fairly near horizon. It's sort of like the Reason mobile device apps STILL only being available for Apple ...

Re: Complex from Propellerhead
Not an experienced modular synth guy. Downloaded the trial. Want to like it, but I would need some in-depth tutorials on module function and connectivity. The manual isn't sufficient for my pea brain. Not into grunge sounds. I might buy if there were more melodic patches. Still playing and have at m...

Opening multiple vst's
I have Captain Chords, CEO and Melody vst's. They talk to one another. Can I have them open and displayed in my screen at the same time so I can easily move between them?? Thanks!

Re: Reason 10: Not Very Impressed
I continue to become a bit disappointed with Reason and I've been a user since version 2. Many other DAWS have the ability to draw Bezier curves for automation. Especially helpful for orchestral pieces. Yet, here we sit with point to point straight lines. I know this has been an issue raised many ti...

View midi from multiple (selected) tracks
Been watching lots of tutorials about orchestration. Many other DAWs can show color coded midi notes (matches track color) from multiple selected tracks. This is a BIG help for timing and voice separation by register. It's a feature of FL Studio and, I believe, Cubase. I've been a Reason user since ...
