Re: What Limiter are you using?
I've only ever used CoolEdit/Audition limiter, Mclass and FabFilter Pro-L so can't say I have a lot to judge from. So far my favourite is by far the Pro-L, although I do sometimes still use the Mclass when I just want to keep it simple - and consuming less dsp. Would like to get my hands on the Pro-...

Re: Update Reason in 10.0.3.
Finally,it loads really quick now. I'll vouch for this. I did a little test on it. I have an old (but pimped out) mid 2011 imac 2.5 ghz i5 Before I down loaded the update I used the stopwatch to clock how fast reason started. Over 3 restarts... Averaged 35 seconds. After downloaded, 3 restarts aver...

Re: Why Reason?
Tried a bunch of other programs before knowing about Reason, none of which felt, for lack of a better word, comfortable enough. Wasn't looking for easy or auto features, just something that made sense to me, and Reason was it. At age 15 in high school they had Reason 1.0 installed in the music class...

Re: Nasty VST undo bug (host crash)
I'm on Mac. Was gonna make a post about this exact issue but kind of kept getting back into reason instead :D Can confirm this Issue has existed since 9.5, was also in 10 through 10.0.2 Noticed it first right after 9.5 came out, when adding a fabfilter Pro-L just to quick-look waveform output. The e...

Re: Reason 10.0.2d1 Released!
no release notes Here are the release notes for you: Reason 10.0.2 • Fixed a bug that would cause the pitch curve in Pitch Edit mode to not be visible. This is basically a hot fix for the issue that some experienced in 10.0.1. :) And here I was thinking it was the lack of sleep. Thanks for the upda...

Re: RV7000 is highly under rated
Not having tried a whole swath of reverbs, I'm probably a bit biased but I've been very happy with RV7000 over the years. In combination with some channel/band splits, compression, eq, other fx, sends and trickery, it's served me wonderfully, to the point I haven't felt the need for anything else. M...

Re: Any performance degradation in Reason on pre-Haswell Windows machines with new MS patch?
Meltdown is already fixed with 10.13.2 (High Sierra) ... pretty sad they removed the patch from the release notes from Sierra and Maverics, because I'm still on Sierra for several reasons. You can read about that here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208394 I'm curious, are you actually a shoemak...

The insane part is that someone at Intel knowingly let this issue exist for nearly 2 decades.Marco Raaphorst wrote: ↑08 Jan 2018why is Apple so slow? this is all about security. are they insane?!

Btw I'm on Mac though. So far no patch for OSX but when it arrives I'll do a full benchmark and backup before updating. Will keep you posted.

Re: Any performance degradation in Reason on pre-Haswell Windows machines with new MS patch?
Generally speaking, not music related, there has been very different reports ranging from no effect to 50% loss. My guess is, due to the nature of the vulnerabilities, i.e. NSA sanctioned, it's gonna be hard to get any real answers until we get to test out the patch for ourselves in this specific en...

Wooo! That whole live event was so much fun and hats off to Kenni for the presenter job and all the judges making it interesting! Still a little in shock that I actually won  I let out a very loud "WHAT" followed by several louder "Woooo!"s, probably woke up the neighbours. Thought for sure, be...

Re: How often do you delete your download folder
I'm sorry, d-what? I try and keep as many files as possible. This causes an extensive need for backup but like @Re8et mentioned, storage is really cheap now a days. I still remember paying $300 for a 20GB disk or the same for a 16GB memory card. I also try and clean out any files I'm absolutely sure...

Re: How many songs did you finish in 2017?
About a dozen. A song reaches a certain point when I just feel like it's said what it has to say and any other ideas are better suited for another song. Usually songs will take anything from a couple months to a couple years to finish. I'll spend a few minutes tweaking something now and then, or ful...

Looks great! What kind of sound/bass traps are those all over the place? I've just started building a new room and going to get a bunch of sound traps made next month. Would love to hear about yours, and they look cool  All the sound treatment on the walls and ceiling is Auralex. The flat pan...

Re: I want to upgrade to Reason 9
Currently using both 8, 9.5 and 10 demo. Can confirm you can have them all installed and work perfectly. However you can only run one at a time, and I did purchase each individual upgrade. I don't have the fully licensed version of 10 so I don't know if that makes a difference, but with my demo inst...

Re: Are you using Blocks mode in Sequencer
Valuable feature but clunky I feel like this exactly describes my feeling about it. The idea is great but it just doesn't work for my personal workflow. I'm sure everyone has different uses for it, but the word "clunky" really hit the nail on the head imho. For sure sequencers can get messy, especi...

Short answer, Yes please.
Long answer, Oooh GOD yessssssssssss, please!!!!!!!!
I love Reason for all its strengths and flaws but it absolutely needs an overhaul. Agree with most points here and realise it would be a lot of work for PH so I just hope it'll arrive eventually.

Ah, inspiration, you fickle b*tch. I tend to get a lot of inspiration from conversation, the kind that goes on into the night or later yet. Or a 2 minute random encounter somewhere. Just having certain topics and ideas kicking around will often spark ideas for me. I like talking about pretty much an...

This is the first contest that caught my interest for years. Not as much for the prizes, although great and I really wanna win :P , but rather the wide-cast open call. I think the lack of limitation is great, and, like Zac pointed out, appeals to creativity. Really excited to hear what people come u...

Can't recall a single most horrible piece of advice but lots of people once said "Maybe you should try making something else, nobody really likes electronic".
