There is a lot of legitimate reasons to change interfaces several times a day.

Between my interface, elektron boxes, iPad, OP-1f, OP-Z and other devices, I have several agregate virtual interfaces created on my MAC. I consistently change my workflow and devices.

Not sure which Mac you have, but for me on the latest Sonoma (and even before), it changes almost instantly (less than a second).
