Recording multiply channels in Reason.
I have two audio interfaces H4N Pro recorder and ART USB Mix, and both have two available channels for recording, both use ASIO drivers. The problem is I cannot separately record (or monitor) channels, whenever I record, even if I press mono and choose 1 out of two channels, it still records from bo...

Hey fellas. Here is a song in a genre I've never thought find myself into, but here I'm writing pop stuff. Vocals are done by a friend of mine and we are about half way through on our album for this project. https://soundcloud.com /alexoceanofficial/sigh/s-sHyox Song 2 https://soundcloud.com/alexoc...

By the time you will have any ability and understanding to pseudo code a simple filter you will see that your question is irrelevant.

Re: Scream - Dry/Wet?
Keep in mind scream has latency in it and will add phasing issues if run in parallel or as a send effect. So, ideally, you have to put it combi and manually adjust latency delay on it.

Re: Anyone have tips for chill NeuroBass? [Question]
The complex part is not so much to create a bass but rather arrange it rhythmically in the way they do it. Bass patches are relatively simple by today's 'standards.' Combination of notches, band passes, distortion and pitch envelope will get you right there.

A set of bass patches
Hi all, I've been user of this website for quite some time and it's about time, I thought, to give back something to people and the community. Over time I've created a small set of bass patches that are suite for bass driven music such as dubstep, neuro, glitch hop and everything in between, or coul...

Re: Describe your preferred workflow
A lot depends on style of music you could be writing. Let's look at two extremes: one is classical music which has all the sounds ready to go and has no or very little sound design implementation , so it goes right away to wiring melodies, harmonies. On the other spectrum is sound design driven musi...

Re: More Potatoes, Please.
It's a big subject and would be hard to point out main ideas in one post. For example: you can do alot with two samplers and a good vocoder. By modulating pitch, velocity (to sample start, effect, etc,) and modulating vocoder's depth per hit would generate some interesting results. zynaptiq morph i...

Re: Question about FM synthesis in Thor vs other programs
Here are some quick comparisons between Thor FM Pair and PM7. Thor FM Amt = 1 Gives the same harmonics as PM7 OP2 Level = 40 To continue Thor @ 1 = PM7 @ 40 Thor @ 2 = PM7 @ 50 Thor @ 5 = PM7 @ 60 Thor @ 10 = PM7 @ 70 Thor @ 30 = PM7 @ 80 Thor @ 60 = PM7 @ 90 Thor @ 123 = PM7 @ 98 (best match) So w...

Re: Clipping when in Mono
My guess would be it you have some processing going on after your mono flip (channel eq/comp?), but before your master chain. I wouldn't worry about it. But to make sure just bounce your stereo mix to wav and listen it in mono after.

Re: Question about FM synthesis in Thor vs other programs
It looks like sytrus reaches almost the same frequency range as rob papens - around 2k (all other things equal means around 60-70% in Thor matrix) and it will sound similar. There are differences in processing of FM on different pitches. Especially it becomes quite obvious if pitch difference betwee...

Re: Question about FM synthesis in Thor vs other programs
Good to know I'm not the only one to come across that, because at some point I honestly thought I'm doing something wrong. As far as I'm aware there are DX7 patches available for Sytrus and you get can get Yamaha sound out of it. I'll try to test out depth idea, maybe thor will sound about the same ...

Question about FM synthesis in Thor vs other programs
Always I've wondered about this in Thor: if you do FM through routing between a few oscillators and dial oscilator volume/fm to the max it will turn into noise. Similar situation is in Subtractor - FM dialer is often useless past 15%,if not less. If you take Ableton's operator or FL's Sytrus I find ...

Re: Album in darkwave/darksynth
It is sad how the generations who came to age post-1990 to obliterate the music that came before them. I don't think it happened quite like this before as even adults now seem completely unwilling to consider that music even exists before EDM, which is not only sad but disturbing as they have no de...
