For me the more straightforward way is an Alt-click on the effect. It creates the track, ready for recording and split your screen between the rack and the sequencer.

I think that it is not possible to transfer the control surface setting, they are melted into the preferences file.

I am also suffering with this glitches problem without having my CPU in the red. I stopped my wifi connexion and the glitches disappeared after a little while. Reason was playing music perfectly.
