Overall I’m digging the vibe you’ve got. Reminds me of Mick Gordon’s work on the DOOM soundtracks.

(Metal) The Application of Time
Alright, I apologize for creating a new thread but I'm not sure how to go back and edit my original one. Last November I ended up putting together a song for Gear Gods Drumception 2020 contest. After it was done I sent it to friend who had worked out some lyrics and vocals for it. I've included the ...

Re: My first tracks EVER from when I was 8. (Warning! They suck!!!)
You know, the timing on this is almost serendipitous, a couple months ago I showed my 7 year old son the basics of the Reason rack; Players, Instruments, Effects, etc. and have been letting him just absolutely go to town. It’s amazing what he’s been doing and creating. I showed him the back of the ...

Re: (LoFi Mellow Alternative) Slow Burn
Nice track. Like the grittiness of the guitar. My only constructive criticism would be to maybe make the mix a little wider somehow. The mix is very monoish. Not a huge problem though. Just a thought. Thanks for listening and for the feedback. That’s fair and I was at a little bit of a loss on how ...

(LoFi Mellow Alternative) Slow Burn
Hey guys, here's another track that I had done. Pretty low key, just some spacey guitar, bass and drums. I was really hoping to do some vocals for it but I've hit a bit of a "block" in that area.
Thanks for the listen.

Re: (Electronic metal) - Arise
You’ve got yourself some meat on them there bones. Very soundtrackish for either a movie or video game (definitely a shooter or high action platformer). You did a great job of conveying the metal “heaviness” without using guitars. That being said, I would definitely love to hear how this would sound...

This was my submission for the Toontrack and Gear Gods Drumception competition: https://www.toontrack.com/drumception-2020/ Overall I'm pretty happy with the way this one turned out. On the routing screen maybe verify that 7/8 are set to Mix L and Mix R. I know that got me a few times.

I just upgraded my LS56 at the beginning of summer so I’m working from memory here but by chance, do you have the outs (in the output selection section I believe) set to mono?

Re: (Film Score) Daedalus In Danger - a Star Trek Fan film
Great sounding score Benedict, especially for what is essentially a small and free sample library. My only critique would be that it came across as very somber feeling which didn’t quite jive with the pace of the story. Now I’d say that if the Daedalus would have been lost when they Enterprise arriv...

I can’t remember do Soundtoys come with a VST2 and 3 option. I know I’ve had some plugins where I’ve physically had to select the 2 during installation or it would just do the 3.

Re: JRR shop - anyone used them? Also, a question about Suite 11 upgrade from R8
I actually used them for my upgrade to 11 suite and for some previous upgrades as well; they are legit. After your purchase is complete they will send you a license. Generally instantaneous unless they’ve run out and then they have to wait for a new batch to be released to them. But from another thr...

It looks like through Nektar’s support they do have a template available for Pro Tools 8 and above. I’ve got the P4 and P1 and with Reason they are fantastic controllers both from the mixing end of things and the RE integration/mapping thanks primarily to the community. Lots of good stuff here. http...

Re: No sale price on upgrades?
What’s the cheapest way to upgrade? JRRShop - using the code "forum" gets you the R11 upgrade for about $115. Also in case anyone is looking for a new DAW, you can grab Studio One Pro 4.5 from JRRShop with the code "group" for the crossgrade deal price of about $167. That will also get you a discou...

Re: PSA Miroslav Philharmonik 2 $100
Yeah this has been a complete PIA for me. I’ve got their T Racks plugin and although their downloading and authorization is a little clunky I’ve had no issues with it. This on the other hand has been an exercise in frustration. They really need to take a page out of Toontrack’s book with an all in o...

Just a heads up for everyone, the full Miroslav Philharmonik 2 from IK Multimedia is 80% off right now. That’s a lot of orchestra for $100 and I think you’d be hard pressed to find a more complete suite for that money.

My only issue with something like this, especially when you have as many different sounds packed in like Boss did, you really need some sort of preset management and possibly midi implementation to get the most out of it in a live context.

Re: Poll: Rewards Points (*Reset: Please vote again)
Curious what are the two reward values in other currencies, ie U.S. and Euro? Are they 25 and 50 in each currency? I'm asking because if they are the same value in each currency then it's even less of a deal that it is to non U.S. peeps. Since the actual products don't remain the same value in othe...

Why not just use an acoustic guitar IR? There are retail ones available at 3 Sigma Audio (https://www.3sigmaaudio.com/acoustic-impulses/), or you can try some free ones here:

If I’m not mistaken, there is one 5 string bass in the pack, try that since that should take you down to a low B.

Re: Wimpy guitar tone
Your definitely gonna want to change things up and use the instrument input as opposed to the line input. A proper Hi Z input is generally pretty crucial to getting a good starting basis for your guitar tone. I also don’t think your gonna be able to get into that high gain sound easily with the Soft...
