Re: Idea for 2D-mixing

A brief outline what I have in mind: The area for mixing should be as big as a fully expanded Thor in the rack. So vertically the logest faders ever seen in Reason would become possible. 32 channels could be mixed regarding to level and panning on the horizontal space for 11 mixer channels (3 times...

Re: Idea for 2D-mixing

what about an RE like that: https://youtu.be/_FLRDh-fZKg?t=19s In reason, each mixer channel has CV inputs for volume and pan. I think of an RE with a large 2D area for about 32 mixer channels. If there are serious interests I get start coding. This is similar to the engineering art of “soundstage”...

Re: Idea for 2D-mixing

I got another idea to do this by using Remote codecs and an RE with no inputs and no outputs (only a GUI). advantages: * every remoteable butoon, knob, trackname, whatsoever can/could be controlled by the RE * absolutely no wiring up cables requires disadvantages: * you need an external MIDI loop li...

Re: Are You Serious?!

my 2 cents on Reason and other DAWs: Reason has the best Audio timestretch/ptchshift so far. No need for Melodyne. NI Maschine in the latest version comes close to that but it's not what I call a DAW. On controller integration Maschine and Ableton with Push shine. Bitwig comes with a touchscreen int...

Re: EMI Timing Issues and MIDI Instability

On smaller buffer size MIDI-out will have more jitter because audio-out comes first.
Audio dropouts are more audible than MIDI timing issues.

Re: Are You Serious?!

When I draw points by dragging the pencil tool, they all show up as expected on the snap resolution I have set. When I let go of the mouse button, it only gives me the last point and erases the rest?! I have to click each and every single one or disable a nonintuitive "clean up automation" option t...

In this case the best approach is probably to bounce to "stereo" audio - sorry I don't have a better solution!

Re: steorize Mono in Reason without ozone imager?

What about putting Ozone Imager on a send in the mixer or on the master bus?
Then you only need one device, not 5 or more.

Re: steorize Mono in Reason without ozone imager?

maybe this https://shop.propellerheads.se/rack-extension/restereo/ could be an option
but a simple short delay on one of the stereo channels should do the trick

I usually widen mono sound by using FX sends, e.g. The Echo with ping pong delays, reverb of all kinds and of course the Rotor RE.

Re: EMI Timing Issues and MIDI Instability

I think jitter is caused by the OS. On windows jitter is measureable. I cant speak for Mac.

This is taking me on an unusual, almost ethereal, musical journey as I surf the net, sounds like I'm in space at one point. Definitely useful for a movie soundtrack or an art installation perhaps. Thank you! Here's the whole album with 2 more tracks: https://ahornberg.bandcamp.com/album...

Re: Rob Papen Go2 Rack Extension Released!

I just checked out, this synth can be tuned microtonal using the modulation matrix.
The sequencer/arpeggiator is awesome ... maybe Rob can make a Player-RE featuring the sequencer/arpeggiator only?

Here's my entry for the challenge: UltraFunkyRoboSleaze. Every sound in the piece is from a module in Synth Bundle 1. Wanted to see how far I could push these synths so I tried to create everything from drums to guitars to piano. It was a lot of fun! https://soundcloud.com/timmy-crowne/ultrafunkyro...

Re: UMPF Club Drums RE

I know you can't do it in ReDrum either, but disappointed to discover you can't save individual drums, so if you like how a particular drum sounds in one of the preset kits and want to add it to your own custom kit, you're going to have to find the source sample, load it and then manually change up...
