Yeah, looking for a different variation of time stretch. So many variations provide several different types of stretch sounds

Re: Reason Drum Kits RE in the shop!

It's a really nice set of drums, and with a little work, you can go from ordinary to amazing. I was easily able to create early 50s - 70s drum tones like bossa nova styles from other countries besides the US. Very loudly, as well. Crisp and articulate while maintaining a booming, heavy sound. A lot ...

Re: Reason Slow Performance - when is optimisation coming?

Sorry to ask what may be an obvious question, but... Is the Mac OS potentially an issue here? Have folk moved to an earlier and stable OS to diagnose this issue(s)? It might be. Something about the OpenGL and Metal graphics something or other - not a coding guy, so it's a bit above my head. Nope, n...

Still waiting, myself. Opening projects I have made in earlier versions of Reason, running Mojave. I don't use VSTs and this is just sapping my CPU like never before. Can't wait for the update!

Re: Reason Drum Kits RE in the shop!

This looks and sounds great, and if you're having to come up with quick commercial music, I would imagine this would just save a TON of time. Sounds great right out of the box. Just provide a beat and off you go.

Re: Would Complex-1 be a good way to learn about synths / synthesis?

Agreed - Subtractor is a simple enough synthesizer to start with. It can make most bread and butter sounds, and some more complex ones after you get the hang of it. It can also do very well as a percussion synthesizer. It's not the most simple synth, but it's very useful to apply the techniques you'...

Re: Will there ever be a Time-Stretch Sampler?

I'm always intrigued that there are a million bit- and rate-crushing REs and VSTs, but other digital artifacts such as Skype-style lossy compression are basically ignored. Absolutely. Bit-crushing is a fantastic effect, but it's all maxed out. So many other things to be done with audio, but it's al...

Will there ever be a Time-Stretch Sampler?

Every once in a while, I'll record myself drumming, then tidy it up in the audio lane by adjusting the slices. For fun, I'll stretch out a hi-hat, or a snare, and just fall in love with the weird sound it has turned into. I'm hoping for one day to have a rack sampler or an actual RE effect that woul...

Re: Sugar-Q Sweetening Equalizer in the shop!

It was a couple of minor things. Tooltip on the "Low Shelf" parameter incorrectly read "Low Freq" and one of the patches had a typo in the title. Other than that it's all the same. :) Cheers for checking it out. Nick Well, it's pretty damn awesome as an EQ - I tried it with some of my more minimali...

Turns out a lot of the code for the modules is open source. I wasn't piecing that together earlier. If somebody wanted to, they could turn these into REs.

Re: Module idea for blamsoft polymodular setup

IYeah, we have Resonans. It's a nice-sounding RE, but it's heavy on the CPU (for me) I think what can kill the performance with Resonans is high polyphony in combination with the Modal Resonator mode (which is based on Rings). The original Rings module does some quality reduction (less partials) wh...

I've recently begun using VCV and am now wishing we had their specific modules as true Rack Extensions (not VSTs). I'm really digging the Audible Instruments modules here: https://vcvrack.com/AudibleInstruments.html Yeah, we have Resonans. It's a nice-sounding RE, but it's heavy on the CPU (for me)....

If you liked Reason back in the day it’s the same thing with more bells and whistles. I’ve been a user since R4 and the magic is still there. As long as you’re not wanting to score music to film (no video support) it can be done in Reason. At this point I feel I have almost all of the tools I need ...

I do wish there was another set of drum synth modules to make sounds with, but not UMPF. Yeah, I can make these ...

Re: Where did "Low Resolution" setting go in OS X Mojave?

Low resolution mode isn't appearing for you because it's only supposed to do anything on hi-res Retina displays that would need to scale up a program like Reason. On a 1920x1080 display like yours, that scaling isn't necessary because Reason is already drawing at native resolution. If that option w...

Re: Where did "Low Resolution" setting go in OS X Mojave?

Out of curiosity, what's the resolution of your monitor? 1920 x 1080 @60 Hz, with 32 bit output. It's a cheap-o monitor that's about 7 years old. My monitor is an AOC 2269W. The 32-bit part is what I'd like to change (I believe that's how the "Low Resolution Mode" checkbox works). I have changed al...
