This is great news - just in time for Christmas. I wonder if the upgrade will go on sale?

Re: PSA for Mac Reason users: Hold off on updating to macOS 10.15 Catalina
The only piece of Apple hardware I have is an iPad. A beautiful device. (Had the Samsung S2 Tablet which costs about the same but is terrible I must admit( I used to have an iPhone 6 but switched to a Samsung S8 and never looked back. I was over installing Microsoft Office on my moms 4 yr old Mac B...

Great vid!
Bring on the AU! (because Cubase sucks) (just joking) (humour alert)
Seriously, I am now really looking forward to getting the Reason rack.

Reason 2.5 - It represents the height of "Classic Reason" to me from a simpler era where people pushed the program to the limits with the small and elegant feature set. Starting with version 3 everything started to get more complex and less tidy (starting with the new browser introduced in 3). Thin...

 Yes! I had my fun playing armchair CEO for a day ;-) The studs have laid out their path, parts of which are exciting. I'll check back periodically to see how the AU version is coming along. I feel like I've abused the hell out of my beloved Props, I hope we can forgive each other...

Re: Announcing Reason 11
Just trying to get my head around the idea of reason devices and res being a plug in. Does that mean I can use them in other software but I have to use that softwares sequencer, and I can't use reasons? I like the idea of using reason with Sony Vegas but the more I think about it the more confused ...

Re: what are the best other DAWs to consider?
As for the other posts here, and at risk of sounding like a Studio One Zealot, here is what you can do with the Studio One chord track: 1. Type in a few chords (or get S1 to "steal" them from an audio track). 2. Create a midi track and give it some strings or a pad instrument. Fill the track with C...

Re: Announcing Reason 11
Is it true that Rewire is going away and that one can't load an old song file into Reason VST? That could limit things a bit if one wanted to rework an existing Reason piece in another DAW or with another DAW... ReWire is being deprecated as of version 11, but you can still open your current versio...

Re: Idea: Reason Target
I thought of something similar: Reason + compute stick embedded in a keyboard with a combinator hardware controller on the keyboard. It boots up running Reason and loads a song with a single combinator. You cycle through and waggle combinator patches using the combinator hardware controller. Hook up...

I know, eh!
I hope they continue to update it or bring the functionality into Garageband or Logic!
Why should I play to the computer? It should play to me!

Re: Your small outboard gear wishlist?
Lately I'm finding that rather than hardware vs. software its about what inspires vs what doesn't (and what is the most fun). For example, I bought and sold a Tascam digital multitrack as I found it more cumbersome than a computer for recording. However, the Yamaha Reface CS I have is totally inspir...

Actually, I think I owned the previous gen and it had horrible action and lousy pads. If the 249 is an improvement and you are happy with it, good for you.

Re: AKAI MPK249/61 honest opinions!
I owned an AKAI MPK-something 61 full-size keyboard. It had so many great features and was a solid piece of equipment. However, I sold it because I found the keyboard action too stiff. I am a keyboard player so my needs maybe be different than someone just entering notes or playing simple riffs. For...

Re: Goodbye Hydlide?
Might've mentioned this before, but this is actually not that wacky. We "spin wait" threads so that they're ready for instructions and don't need to be woken up. Wait states. Welcome back to 1991. Shitty programming. A wait state is not the same thing as a spin lock, as far as I am aware. A wait st...

Re: [Pop] - French(ish) Pop From Mytho
This sounds really good - song, performance and recording. It is very rare that one hears a non-electronic piece posted here and Reason is obviously very up to the task. The drums and piano fit in really nicely with the acoustic instruments. Did you use reverb, and if yes which one? Thanks so much f...

Re: [Trance] And all that will never be
I thought this was really, really good. Not cheesy at all in my opinion. The only thing that came to my mind was that in the middle when the piano riff repeats a few times, maybe there could be an additional build element. But that is really minor. Thoroughly enjoyed the track and will listen again.
